Three things.
The first. I'm requesting if you know anyone of our group that was transferred during this mission at any point, whether it was already announced or not, to list them here. If you knew anything about them, particularly unique to them—information, capabilities, whatever—I'd ask you disclose the information, as well. [ he may be able to get the first part, at least, by looking it up but it helps to have confirmation from files that are not documents provided by ALASTAIR. ]
The second. I'd like to know of any of you that are of leadership status back where you come from, particularly if you are responsible for the lives of others. Militarily, politically, socially, whatever. [ not the time to be picky. ]
Lastly, what's the value of a life to you? Both your own and others around you and how far does that value extend? They say there's a time to kill and a time not to kill: what're yours? [ it'd be nice to know who the self-sacrificers are versus the kill-happy. and then everyone else in between. ]
...Allow me to introduce myself, if you don't know me: I'm Date Masamune, a daimyo from the north.
[ yes, he's got a different tone to this from the last time he addressed the network, but the serious nature seems necessary, if not because of the content but because of what they're all sitting in the middle of while they wait to leave chantes. might as well be somewhat productive. ]

In my world, I am a knight. My duties often involved ensuring the safety of the citizens and directing other soldiers, as well as discussing plans with the government. [Not that.... most of those go particular well...... But you can't say she doesn't try!!
Her next answer doesn't come as easily though, and there's a bit of a pause as she chooses her words.]
... Ideally, no one would ever have to be killed. ["Ideally." She's had plenty of firsthand experience at this point to understand how reality often doesn't live up to ideals.] However, there are times where killing is the only way to quell a threat. All life has value, and I personally would not resort to such methods unless absolutely necessary.

Ah, the western version of a samurai! Excellent! [ he sounds a bit excited then.
He actually is impressed that she takes the time to choose her words. ] Then, is a mission success or your teammates' well-being what you personally would favor?
no subject
My teammates' well-being. [That comes without a second of hesitation though. She recognizes the possibility of there being a mission where its success might honestly be more important than their well-being, but frankly, she can't think of a situation where that would be the case in her eyes. Actually, she'd probably risk herself first rather than someone else if it came to that.] While the success of a mission is important, I would not risk someone's life for it.

[ he makes everything sound more interesting than it actually is, doesn't he...
he waits a moment after her answer on her stance, and he is more serious when he follows up with a question. ] Have you been in a situation where you had to choose before?
no subject
... No. I will admit that I have not. [And she hopes that she'll never have to be put into that situation. Who would want that, right? But she realizes that it's a rather naive way of thinking.] Still, I stand by my answer.

It's too easy to take for granted in his home, he guesses, where everyone is more familiar with your thinking and ways of doing things. ]
No, that is good. You display control and a sense of awareness about yourself that many do not have until they suffer what they would wish to avoid. [ he knows this personally--plenty well-- even. ]
D...iph...da, was it? [ his accent is really going to show on that name wow... ]
no subject
And I must thank you for your words. I realize that I'm still naive in many ways, but if my words seem as such to you [because wew does she know that her control goes out the window once she's personally involved], perhaps that means I'm beginning to grow, at least somewhat.
