So we are to fight. [Odinson is freshly bathed, his hair tied back in a knot. There's a new light in his eyes at the promise of this. Killing robots is a task well-suited to him. This he can do.]

Being newly-come to this group, I know few of you, and few of you know me. I would know the skills and knowledge of those I will fight alongside. Or die alongside, if this enemy is truly so formidable. [The half-smile that follows indicates he doesn't quite believe that's a possibility.]

Myself, I am Odinson, of Asgardia, God of Thunder. [There's the slightest hesitation there, for anyone who'll notice such a thing. Something unsaid.] I have fought across the nine realms of my universe, and will fight here with hammer or blade or my fists until the enemy is routed or I am slain. If any wish to spar or learn to fight in the days before we are summoned to Oska, you have only to call on me.

Likewise, any tacticians or those with knowledge of Oska or the enemy, share your knowledge. We ought have some plan before we are shipped back. [Is that sarcasm???]

I've been with Audentes for roughly a full year now, with an additional five months transferred to another team. [ 17 months total in ALASTAIR... Surely that's no more than the blink of an eye for Odinson? ]

I'm afraid I'm not a tactician, but I would be grateful to battle alongside you.

I am heartened to hear that the Audentes boast so many brave warriors. If nothing else, the enemy will fear our might.

One can hope so. I don't know very much of machines, but they do run on electricity, do they not?

Also, another questions comes to mind, though somewhat belated: ] ...This 'Asgardia' you speak of, by the way. Is it a place of gods, then, like Olympus?

Aye, it is. It is the home of the Aesir, the Asgardians. Gods of Earth whom the Norsemen worshipped.

[A shadow crosses his face, but he takes a breath and ignores the thought.] Likewise, you are correct about machines and electricity. If they are poorly configured, a storm might wreak havoc among them.

I see. It must be a beautiful place, then.

[ And a h . . . here she had assumed thunder was still a part of his arsenal, given his godly title. (Unfortunately she does not catch onto the subtle change of expression or the reason for it.) ]

If they are not, then I suppose blunt force will have to do.

[ Magic... ballistics... She has no idea how tough these robots will be, but either way she's sure to find out soon enough. ]

Whatever it takes, a handful of robots will not long prevail against our gathered might. [His grim look eases.] The Audentes I have met today seem for the most part to be prepared and able to face this challenge.

There are many capable fighters among our numbers. [ Plenty who've introduced themselves to Odinson already, it seems. ]

I will hope for a swift and decisive outcome.
