[ Undyne had said she wanted more guidance from ALASTAIR. Here she is, with more guidance, and she doesn’t know if she likes it. Looking more ragged than ever, she’s standing with Pearl, with the volcano Nalalona in the background. ]

Alright chumps, listen up, it’s time for some teamwork! ALASTAIR has some ideas about what we can do to get the volcano going again, so everyone can get their powers back. ...it’s going to involve a bomb.

[Pearl clears her throat, despite the fact her body is flickering in and out of view at some points during the video. The Gem stands tall as she gestures back to the volcano.]

This is correct. ALASTAIR has entrusted us with schematics of creating a bomb and a catapult. It’s up to us to gather the necessary supplies and assemble them.

They have observed a high level of tectonic plate activity here, near the Nalalona volcano. With enough force -- the bomb in this case -- we can possibly trigger an eruption and restore the natives’ Gifts, along with our own magical abilities. The volcano’s opening is large enough for us to hit our mark with the bomb. It’s up to us to put it all together.

We can’t afford to not try. Look around you, half our team relies on magic just to exist. This isn’t just about helping the natives use magic anymore, this about saving ourselves. If you don’t use magic, good for you, but if you have a heart, you’ll understand why this is important, and why if I catch anyone slacking off, they’ll be answering to my spear about why they don't think it's important. Got it?!

[Pearl glances to Undyne and offers her a weak smile. The situation they were all facing was quite dire. She faces the feed again.]

I know we have the ability to make this work. And we will, if we all work together on this. Every little bit helps!

You're letting fear cloud your judgement, instead of holding the people that put us in this situation responsible. And you're choosing to endanger the people we came here to help for your own ends, and not even ends you know that will work.

( he can tell this argument is not going anywhere though, and he's too tired to keep at it. fine. everyone knows his opinion, he won't share it anymore. )

I know it's hard. I'm struggling, too. That doesn't make this right, though.

that's not an answer. if you have proof, what is it? and I don't mean what was mentioned in the briefing. that's not proof, either.

You're struggling? Good for you. Your fellow recruits are going to lose their lives if we don't take action fast, and you want to talk about endangering people? Nobody is in danger, except the people you're condemning because you don't want to take a risk. Well, I'm not going to let that happen. I'm going to help the people we came here to help, and I'm going to need to be alive to do it. If that's looking after my own ends then fine, but if you think sacrificing our own lives is somehow going to help the natives, you're wrong.

[ It seems to burn out just as quickly though, and leaves her weaker for it. She looks all that much worse for it. ]

Go find this goddess if you're so convinced it will help. Prove me wrong, I dare you. Until then you're just making a lot of noise and not helping anyone, not us, and not the natives.

You're talking about throwing an explosive into a volcano. Don't let fear disguise what you are doing to protect yourself, no matter what ALISTAIR tells you there is no foolproof way to combine weaponry and uncertain natural elements. There could be people in danger, and you don't know that it'll help anything.

ALISTAIR is the one that sent magical beings here without consideration to how it would affect them. I suggest you call them on it instead of blindly taking their guidance, without knowing how it will result.

( he shakes his head, weariness apparent. being heartless in an unmagical land doesn't work any better for him than a magical being in an unmagical land. )

I'll do what I can. Perhaps you're right that I'm doing nothing but dissenting. ( it isn't much, but he'll try to do what he can. even if one person won't make much of a difference when the majority of the team is trying to make a bomb. )

No, not yet. We still need... everything. And lots of it, so start with what you can find and we'll worry about crossing things off as we get them. [ She pauses then adds, ] I think it'll be more efficient that way. Get everything we can find immediately and worry about hunting down specific stuff after.

Yeah... I didn't make the list, that's all I can say. I don't even know why they thought that was an option.

But. Uh. Thanks. Find what you can, we need a lot of everything anyway, so I think our best bet is to get what we can find easily, and then search out anything we can't cross off the list.

Hello, Graham!! I don't mean to interrupt like this! But Undyne gets very passionate when she's arguing and I'm worried about that draining her faster!

But!! I wanted to let you know!! That the bomb isn't explosive. I mean, unless sea urchins and coconuts are explosive?? Because I looked at the ingredients list. And this seems less like a bomb, and more like... a present!

I know you're really worried... and I am too.

They're trying to reactivate a volcano, Papyrus. I don't care what the ingredients to the bomb they propose are. That's dangerous, no matter what they're telling us.

( Undyne isn't the only one that finds debate especially draining, though. he doesn't have much left himself. )

I am worried. If this is the path we decide to take, everyone should be aware of the risks. If I could hand everyone the better solution, I would. I wish more of us would question the people putting us in danger, instead of blindly trusting them when they've done nothing to deserve it.

Mmhm. I do have my own doubts about the plan, but it's probably the most that we can do right now. [What with fading powers and all.] If we do things properly on our end and it fails, the fault and responsibility will entirely fall upon ALASTAIR. Then at least everyone will have something legitimate to complain about.

They have lava tunnels, they will be fine. Less so if our bomb does an unusual amount of damage to some part of the volcano we can't see, since we're going to launch it with a catapult, but... None of the material are explosives.

It's worth a try. We need to coordinate our forces as soon as possible, nonetheless. Evacuation is easy, the lava tunnels will do the rest. A bigger issue is the hearts. Even if we settle for a substitute | and her tone suggests that is a bad idea | this needs to be kept far away from the Nalawi. You heard Ryba, they aren't as peaceful as they look, and I doubt they would hesitate to use their powers against us, whether or not we restored them.

As far as we know, the volcano has not erupted in quite some time. And how were they supposed to know about the weakening of magic? They may have assumed it affected the natives, but didn't think it would affect us as well, being from different worlds and universes. Honestly, would anyone have guessed that?

We can evacuate what natives are on the island to the south. They will be safe in that area of the island. It's the only option they're offering us. If you wish to try out a different venue, by all means do so.
