Hello there, it seems like we'll be waiting this out for some time considering the weather-type circumstances. While we're all rotting away, etcetera etcetera, I thought we could amuse ourselves with a game. A little bit of team bonding funtimes, so to say. [ he twists a dark nailed hand in the air, gesturing. ]

Soo—oo ... it's called Two Truths and a Lie. How do you play? Glad you asked, it's simple! Give two true statements about yourself and add a lie to the mix, shake it up then toss it out there and see if your team members know you well enough to spot the lie.

Usually this is done with copious amounts of alcohol, but we're lacking at the moment. [ pause. ] But—ah—you could always enjoy the satisfaction of being right. It's not like we're doing much else.

I think he'd say it was the right thing to do, and we owe him nothing at all, if we told him as much.

But I'm sure we'll find a way to repay him.

I'd prefer he never be in a position where he needs us to, but ... I'm sure we will too.

Mmmhmm. A babysitting mission has had its share of deadly setbacks. I'd hate to see what actual war looks like to ALASTAIR.

He does seem to be fairly experienced when it comes to these missions. One of the first I've met, actually, besides Alice-san.

And the senior operatives, of course, but until now, I'd never even heard from any of them.

At least they're friendly enough to join in on drinking games.

[that's... about all he has to say about that. he's still working out how he feels about them.]

Mmhm. It wouldn't do for them to be standoffish. Though I do find it interesting they don't seem to treat us any differently than they would subordinates on any other team. I didn't expect them to, of course, but given our situation, it wouldn't be surprising if they were more... delicate with us.

Because we didn't choose to be here- treating us like we did without knowing anything about us is a risky decision. Some might take offense to it, and very few of the Audentes are powerless.

Then by that logic, if they're not being gentle with us, they're not afraid of the power we have. [ Which probably means they have more. ]

Correct! And that means they're either very powerful or they know enough about each of us to know we have no power over them. It's not a terrible system- even people who volunteer can be doing so for nefarious purposes.
