VIDEO. UN: LOKI
[ the sound of the wind storm hollows dully against the cave walls. Loki's squidge, Bacon, can half be seen crawling in the confines of his tacky green jacket and over his knee from where he sits, sometimes ducking and squeaking when a particularly large gust hits. to keep it from screaming, Loki offers his fingers absently, which the little squidge pulls on with its pudgy arms before ducking low again. ]
Hello there, it seems like we'll be waiting this out for some time considering the weather-type circumstances. While we're all rotting away, etcetera etcetera, I thought we could amuse ourselves with a game. A little bit of team bonding funtimes, so to say. [ he twists a dark nailed hand in the air, gesturing. ]
Soo—oo ... it's called Two Truths and a Lie. How do you play? Glad you asked, it's simple! Give two true statements about yourself and add a lie to the mix, shake it up then toss it out there and see if your team members know you well enough to spot the lie.
Usually this is done with copious amounts of alcohol, but we're lacking at the moment. [ pause. ] But—ah—you could always enjoy the satisfaction of being right. It's not like we're doing much else.
NOTE | Feel free to threadjack if that's your thing!! :****

I don't think I would like a magic hand. Forgive me, I meant that more as a question... what do you mean a magic hand? But I suppose you answered that...

I... interrupted a magical ritual and part of the magic fused to my hand. Not the best experience and it almost killed me but it was helpful in a way. We ended up needing the magic to help restore some semblance of order to Thedas again.

I am happy to hear that some order was returned to your world. I hoped they thanked you for all your trouble.

[It's an evasive answer, made more so as Meallan glances away from his jewellery for a moment before swiftly continuing.]
But I suppose it worked out in the end, although I don't think many worlds are likely to thank anyone for something like that. It seems like when something like that happens, many people are too busy arguing about it.
What about you? What's your world like?
video.
I'm sorry. [ Sounds like a story that isn't for him. ]
It seems people only come together when there is a threat and then fall apart as soon as it is resolved. [ A small sigh. ] My world is... I wonder if I should say modern. There are -- [ Ah, easier to turn on video to show himself, isn't it? He shows off his glowing green LED lights. ] -- like this. Omnics which are machines that have souls and are sentient. Though... some humans would like to think otherwise. It's presently in peril but no one wishes to do much about it. Doing something about it before created a powerful force that people began to fear... but doing nothing would mean to allow injustice to continue.
So... I'd say my world is very much like yours in that respect. No one is happy about it but something must be done. Sadly no magical hand, but a lot of people with amazing abilities.

Machines with souls? Is that possible and how do people tell? Do they pass through the Fade when they die?
[Realising belatedly that it might be a sensitive topic as well, Meallan's expression shifts to a more contrite one and he pulls himself back a little more.]
I'm sorry, that was probably rude of me. Are you one of those machines? If you don't mind my asking that is.
no subject
[ True self is without form, isn't that right? ]
No. [ To both without really saying. He doesn't mind being asked and he isn't one. ] I'm not... I'm somewhere in the middle. And they're called omnics. That helps to separate them from those that are not sentient.

Was one of your parents human and the other an omnic?
no subject
No. I was ... made into what I am today. I used to be human, but I suffered an accident. The only way to save me was to replace what was lost with these parts.
