[ the sound of the wind storm hollows dully against the cave walls. Loki's squidge, Bacon, can half be seen crawling in the confines of his tacky green jacket and over his knee from where he sits, sometimes ducking and squeaking when a particularly large gust hits. to keep it from screaming, Loki offers his fingers absently, which the little squidge pulls on with its pudgy arms before ducking low again. ]

Hello there, it seems like we'll be waiting this out for some time considering the weather-type circumstances. While we're all rotting away, etcetera etcetera, I thought we could amuse ourselves with a game. A little bit of team bonding funtimes, so to say. [ he twists a dark nailed hand in the air, gesturing. ]

Soo—oo ... it's called Two Truths and a Lie. How do you play? Glad you asked, it's simple! Give two true statements about yourself and add a lie to the mix, shake it up then toss it out there and see if your team members know you well enough to spot the lie.

Usually this is done with copious amounts of alcohol, but we're lacking at the moment. [ pause. ] But—ah—you could always enjoy the satisfaction of being right. It's not like we're doing much else.

[ OMG SHE WON!! she takes a moment to squeal happily to herself — though she takes care to muffle it behind her hands. ]

It's a fun game, and a good way to get to know each other. I'm glad Loki put it up, since otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the chance to talk to as many people.

[winces]

Oh... [ she perks up a bit, perhaps even hopefully. ]

Are you shy as well, Mr. Meallan?

[He smiles gently at that, thoroughly charmed by how she looks a bit hopeful at the idea and not wanting to damage that hope.]

Are you shy, Olivia? With how many people there are here, it can get overwhelming if you ask me. There's so many I still don't know and I wonder if I ever will.

[winces]

[ "are you shy, olivia?" more like "do you breathe, olivia?" ]

I-I sometimes have a hard time getting the nerve to talk to people... Everyone's so amazing and intimidating...!

You're amazing yourself you know. [It's entirely earnest and Meallan offers another smile with it.]

Anyone who's willing to help others as you did with me is more than a little impressive in my books. That sort of thing doesn't come easily.

[winces]

[ wow???? NOPE ]

Th-That wasn't really anything, to be honest...! I couldn't just leave you alone after that... M-My masters would have been very disappointed in me otherwise!

Your masters?

[His hackles rise at the wording and all it implies immediately, though he tries to keep it from his voice as much as he can. Still, there's an edge there he can't be entirely rid of.]

Who are your masters? Why do you call them that?

[winces]

[ fortunately, olivia does not sense his tension, and merely carries on with a little laugh. ]

W-Well, I suppose only one of them wants me to call them that, but since they're both my teachers, it was just easier to refer to them that way. But, you might have met them already? Sieglinde and Law? They're wonderful healers, though they work very differently. And both have taken me under their wing to help me.. well. Help others!

Oh! [The tension fades as Meallan realises what she means and is relieved that it's far less sinister than he thought, though the choice in wording is still strange to him.]

I've met Sieglinde, but not the other you speak of. Are they teaching you healing? Didn't you know it already?

[winces]

[ take it up with sieglinde, tbh. she's the one that insists upon it.

though, in all fairness, given what olivia normally wears... it's more of a wonder how often people don't think she's some sort of slave. ]

I was given the ability by ALASTAIR, but it's thanks to Sieglinde's tutelage that I'd grown comfortable with it. And Law's own teachings have given me more practical first aid knowledge.

Sieglinde's been teaching you? [Now that's interesting. The other name doesn't sound familiar to him but Meallan makes a note of it, wondering if he might need a little assistance later with his own newfound ability.]

I didn't realise she was a healer. Still, I can't imagine calling someone 'master' simply for teaching you.

[winces]

Oh, well... Sieglinde has fairly particular tastes. [ cough she may be a bit high maintenance and old fashioned. ] It might just be how they do it in her world! I don't really mind, since she's helped me a lot.

I suppose if it doesn't bother you then that's what's important. Is she a decent teacher?

[winces]

Oh, Sieglinde? She's wonderful! [ then again, when is olivia known for saying anything bad about anybody............... ]

She's — very strict, but only because she's very dedicated to her craft. And she really knows what she's talking about, too! I know I'm in good hands with her.
