Bear with me. [ he generally doesn't pick text as his best medium of storytelling, but here it goes. ]
So, the place I come from, the Realm Eternal, home of the gods, blah blah blah blah-
It's been around for a long time, long enough to accumulate its share of enemies. My father, who's quite appropriately titled the god of war, used to march through the hallways reeking of blood and while announcing out his victories.
He had his pride, and he never took threats from the outside lightly. One of his more charming points.
One of many unnamed worlds came to test him. Do understand when I mean MANY, that there are those left forgotten, even to the divine archives. This arrogant, spiteful world fell upon Asgard, and Odin went to meet the challenge.
There was a terrible battle, one that they say lasted decades, the wail of a billions falling in aguish of their folly.
Who knows? It was forgotten, after all, as were they.

Yet, instead of going gentle into that goodnight, those lost focused their hatred. While they left these realms for death, they combined themselves into a being of pure malice turned flesh.
The hatred of a billion, billion, billion beings, concentrated into some twisted demon.

Odin locked the beast beneath Asgard to be forgotten.
And these beings? Who they were? Well, not even Mangog remembers now, all he has his own hatred.
