Ahem.
[The video reveals a rather proper looking young girl (ignore the old blood stains on her dress), sat in front of a rather impressive sprawl of vials, jars, and herbs.]
I am Sieglinde Sullivan, and though I have made some of your acquaintances, there are far more of you than one can expect me to know- so please consider this my formal introduction.
[She pauses, until. Yes, that's right, no one could reply yet.]
My true purpose in contacting you all is to find out who among you is capable of healing, whether that be in the scientific or magical sense. I am aware of some of you, but I could use some assistance in the production of potions and salves if there are any among you competent with such things.
Even someone unskilled could be of use if you are willing to learn and have a steady hand.
I would also appreciate the chance to speak more leisurely with those who may have knowledge of healing methods different from those of my own.
I await your contact with pleasure.

[Even if it's a lot to take in at once, the more it sinks in, the more questions he'll have too.]
Maybe while I'm assisting you, if you're still looking for someone.

[After all, if he truly was Merlin...]
Since our worlds may differ, perhaps we may learn from each other.
no subject
I'd like that. I'll be ready to start whenever you are.
[Anyone who knew him might say that he's never been so eager to work before.]
no subject
Are you available this day? I've several solutions I'd like to begin as soon as possible.
no subject
Where should I meet you?
no subject
[Stairs are something of a natural enemy of hers but she doesn't want him to miss it... !]
no subject
[He starts to head off, but then he pops off.]
What's your name?
no subject
I am Sieglinde. Sieglinde Sullivan.
no subject
[Merlin repeats her name with a smile.]
I'll see you shortly.
no subject
[oh man she's got to put a lid on her excitement by the time he arrives, though]
action, if you want!
Action cause I do so want!
So Merlin wasn't so far fetched, and even if he was not the same... Well, it was still a pair of hands she could put to work!
Sieglinde doesn't exactly clean, however... So once Merlin makes his way up the stairs on the side of the apothecary to the door to the flat above it... He'll find a tiny young girl in heavy gown, balancing on unnaturally tiny heels by holding to the door handle and gesturing him into a veritable pig sty of notes and experiments. Magic circles half completed drawn on the floor in one corner, notes of a planetary nature draped over a cask of beer in another, and several different things bubbling in vials on the desk.]
Merlin, is it? Well met, well met-
!!!
Oh, yeah. The pleasure's mine.
[But unless appearances are deceiving (and they often can be) she looks even younger. Small too, and he thinks Gwen would make over the fabric and details of her gown. He smiles at her before looking around. The mess doesn't bother him - Merlin can be a bit of a slob himself, and he's always used to bundles of dried herbs and books and Gaius boiling and bubbling this and that.
This actually looks a lot like home.]
Looks like you're already hard at work.
no subject
But he had not responded well to the idea, so she kept those thoughts to herself, instead ushering him in and closing the door behind before walking in a distinctive, off balance sway to the chair at the work desk, which she clambered into as gracefully as possible (which was not so gracefully).]
I have begun what I can... The apothecary downstairs has a good supply of basics, but there are other things I find myself in need of...
[She gestured to... The general mess of her desk. Notes here and there, a scribbled magic circle of some kind that actually took up most of a paper and some of the wood beneath, a small braiser heating a chunk of metal, handful of bark floating in a basin of water...]
But you are familiar with this sort of work, yes?
no subject
Yeah... [He tilts his head, peeking at her notes like the busybody that he is.] If it's here, I can find and retrieve it. I'll do my best.
[Merlin looks back at her face and smiles.]
I don't mean any offense, but I think it's brilliant that you're studying all this. When I was your age, I was still catching frogs.
no subject
She'd simply learned science as magic and didn't yet know how to separate the two.]
It would be most appreciated- after all, it will be best to have as many supplies available as we can.
[Considering the past riot, the idea of future violence... Such talk made her expression darken slightly- as did his praise, weirdly enough.]
... It is nothing. I simply had responsibilities. Besides, it is fascinating work, I'm sure you agree.
[She did at least try to put a positive spin on the fact that she'd been burdened with the (lie) truth of her lineage from birth, the desperate mission to placate the werewolves of the wood with the ultimate magic only she could create.]
no subject
[Though Merlin's far from a stranger to that concept. But she's also asked him a question, and brought up a good point before that.]
Yeah, and as important here as I've ever seen it. Do you have a list of things you're still in need of?
no subject
[Most importantly, the offering of her legs to the werewolves of the wood in return for protection, the promise to create the "ultimate magic" that would allow them to live on despite the encroachment of humanity. What had burdened her since childhood, the last Green Witch, feet ritually bound to honor her ancestor's contract.
She'd had the truth revealed to her, but it's still too fresh, too painful, and the lie comes out smoother- she'd believed it most all her life, after all.]
- ah, of course.
[She was more than happy to talk about the list instead, rustling in her papers for a scrap of parchment she held out to him, on which was listed a variety of fairly common herbs used in treatments- though a few notable items, like a certain poisonous mushroom, wolfsbane, and vitriol stood out as more uncommon requests.]
Are you familiar with these?
no subject
[Merlin grins at that, even more excited now to be working with another magical person, though the mention of "pacts" worries him for reasons he can't quite put his finger on. Maybe he's just a worrier.
He takes the parchment, lips moving with each word as he moves down it quickly. Merlin nods, but his thumb does stop beside one of those items.]
Some of them might be harder to find than others, for good reason. [He looks back up at her.] They're poisonous.
no subject
[There had been a period when she couldn't say that sort of thing with pride... But ALASTAIR has restored her faith in her own magic, bolstered her abilities, and the title came out smoothly again. The Green Witch.
She doesn't dodge the issue of the suspect items on the list, either, nodding to confirm that.]
It is good you know of that- though I assure you my interest is limited to the ways they can be used to purge the body of fouler things.
[Nothing like poison mushrooms to encourage vomiting...]
no subject
Oh yeah, Gaius used to keep some of the same. Uhm...
[He looks around for a satchel or something to collect things in.]
I can get started right away. [But then Merlin seems to hesitate when he looks back at her.] Can I do anything for you before I leave?
[His eyes drop briefly, looking to her legs.]
no subject
That would be most useful for me. And once you return, I can impart some of my knowledge, if you'd like.
[Her expression did drop for a single moment when she noticed where he was looking, but she hid it decently, shaking her head.]
- I am alright. These experiments need my attention at present.
[She wouldn't be moving for a while yet.]
no subject
[He's eager to hear some of that knowledge. Gaius would probably accuse him of never having such an interest in his work, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him, right? Plus this seems different, more of a blend of talents.
Merlin takes a few quick steps towards the door before turning one last time.]
Oh, and if you remember anything else, you can always contact me!
[He keeps forgetting about that little convenience.]
no subject
[It was very, very difficult not to let her excitement get the better of her- she was potentially ordering around the Merlin, here. But she managed to reign in it- she'd have to think of a proper potion to demonstrate to him upon his return... perhaps the one that purified wounds...]
That is right-
[She patted the end of the chatelaine chain around her waist, where her own device was programmed.]
Upon your return we shall begin.
