Something like this happened where I'm from.. people were fed lies their whole life, and they really believed that those in power had their best interests at heart. But it was all a way to protect themselves, to further their own interests. But.. that's a hard pill to swallow, isn't it? Even with proof that they're being fooled, people will believe what they want to — what's most convenient — even if that means ignoring what's right in front of them. It's honestly a little scary. I was one of those people, too. [ it's hard remembering that time in her life. her tone is sober. ] Once things start to change, I think things will start to fragment. People will form their own groups, to represent their own ideals, and they'll naturally distrust anyone who tries to enact any kind of control or order.

I"m sorry. I know this isn't really helpful. I just thought.. maybe my experience could offer some perspective. I don't want to see anyone get hurt because our sloppiness. If only this were a situation where we could play the neutral party.
