[ While the jailbreak ends and everyone goes back to their lives as fugitives, three (four, including another one on another important mission) gods have put it upon themselves to have a kidnapping. There's the familiar face of Michel, placed unceremoniously upright on a stump, a paper bag over his head supporting a cheesy looking inked smiley. Loki, stepping back like she's adjusting a camera, waves a hand toward him in a long, lackadaisical motion. Let no one say that Loki didn't have a flair for dramatics. ]

We've got it in the bag, or so the mortals say. Ah—shall we do introductions?

Everyone! I present the leader of the Order of the Chimera himself, Mister Michel, straight from the slammer. With circumstances as they are, we thought it best that he didn't make a further mess of things. On the more unfortunate side, that makes all of us super double traitors, both to the crown and the Order ... [ jazz hands!!! ] To the least, the history books will name us resourceful ones. ... you know, if they don't erase of us entirely. It has to be something about the job description ...

[ She's not alone, both Thor and Ahad stand behind her, the darkly cloaked Thunderer with his arms folded and Ahad fingering a cigarillo. Loki straightens the lapels of her jacket and gives a long glance back at the two of them. ]

He's been kind of enough to answer a few of our questions, but it's been—ah, less than enlightening.

[ Which is when Thor move forward, arms loosening though his gaze remains hard on Michel. Or at least, his paper bag. ]

He speaks of his gods as if in conference with them. If they find the schism between peoples here unnatural then have them present a solution that is not blotting out the sun and throwing the realm under their care into chaos. [ A growl rumbles in the back of his throat as he paces to one side. ] He could not send a message, as he said, unless he were first a messenger. I would meet with these gods, if they live elsewhere than his excuses.

[ And likely demand they guide their people if things are so dire. Or introduce their faces to Mjolnir, at this rate, instead of letting one of a pair of brothers lapse into magic-fueled madness … not that Thor is personally touched by any of this, no. ]

[ Meanwhile, Ahad simply sighs, remaining in his position in the background. There's one further practical consideration, which he means to address. ]

There's a wide, gaping gap between kill him and let him go. Impossible to cross. We'll need a bridge of some sort.

[ Loki turns halfway, showing Kida her profile. a small smile plays over her lips. the battle here is far from won, and while interference might be necessary, it doesn't mean that it's always good. something needed to change. Michel, in all of his hatred, was still a product of social injustice. ]

I've been told more than once that we should kill him. [ it's presented as it is. ] What do you think we should do with him?

[ there's a moment where her expression flickers, like she's been caught, or thrown off her game. her eyes round, blinking back and trying to backtrack through her brain. she hadn't seen Verity since the Asgardia break-in, and Verity seemed to have discovered— ]

[ there's a glance over to Thor to make sure that he's distracted with something else. ]

Verity, look ...

Oh, yes, actually you happen to be in luck. I'm one of the prime time judges on the cheery guy award.

[ she rotates a dark nailed finger, pointing at him. ]

Always a possibility. The details of divinity differ depending on what corner of the multiverse you're trouncing in.

He claims that he has powers far greater than that, bringing something terrible along with him. Perhaps his own god is a fraud, as some have so much trouble believing, or perhaps not.

I know there was talk of finding a spell book with certain pages missing- perhaps examining that with as many magics represented would be helpful to understand his capabilities...

[Something about this seems like a bomb that could go off at any second, but...]

Have you encountered gods of goblins before in your own travels?

If I were Queen in this place, he would already be dead for the crimes he's committed.

[ She says it calmly enough. Without pride, but without shame. ]

But it is not my decision--nor any of ours. The people of Chantes should choose his punishment; they are his victims.

And let him have even a bit of light and fresh air? ( she tsks. ) The ironically inept artwork adds a charmingly sinister air, I think. Rather suits this scene. ( her voice is rich with sarcasm; concern seems too expensive but treating Michel this poorly may be just as costly. )

[oh, she knows. dangerous actions lead to a dangerous disregard for life. she isn't surprised at all by the answer she ends up with.]

... Right. We can't take our eyes off of him. Can you tell me more about what he's going to be "calling", exactly?

True. [she's acquaintances with one misguided priest... and rin realizes there are likely plenty at fault on both sides regarding the situation in chantes.

she straightens up a bit, nodding her head.]

If everything I've heard is correct, he's one of those half-goblin, half-human people. I imagine that's a hard life to live, but—meaningless slaughter isn't the answer, not when there are other solutions.

Should his gods be telling him the opposite, he needs to find new gods.

[what was done was done. and anyway, he did have a question.]

how about this: seriously, where did he hope his plans would take him? was it a bid for a wipe and rewrite? if the only answer is something as useless as "justice," that's good too.

Finally. I've been trying to get answers about who this Michel yahoo is since I got here. So he's the bastard that blotted out the sun and caused this whole mess? [Lea leans forward and squints a little, frowning at the paper bag.] Well, it wouldn't be the first time I've been branded a traitor, so... bring it on, I guess. [Can't be worse than being a fugitive from the Organization. Shrug.]

Gonna have a little fun with him, I presume? I mean, if he's not answering questions like a helpful prisoner...

[ there's a part of her that doesn't like that, but it's the same part that says good, just in case. Michel isn't the only possible individual around these parts that may get into something distasteful. ]

So, how well does it work if someone believes the lie they're telling?

[ what would Odin do? probably the same as Kida. while Thor's angry, she doesn't think that he'd advocate killing him.

she rubs the back of her head, closing an eye. ]

He may be a tad on the crazy side, but there are other forces involved here. You spoke to the king, didn't you? It's not as if he doesn't have any blame in all of this.

Something needs to change, but as for what? [ she puts her hands on her hips and huffs as she looks back at Michel. ]

Do you think that the people of Chantes won't devolve into pointy fingers after all this? Sentence him to death on his heritage rather than his crimes?

[ Kida may have naive, simplistic views, but she has the benefit of being flexible on them. She still thinks they shouldn't be the arbiters of Michel's fate, however. ]

You think we should protect him.

[ Loki purses her lips and then huffs. ]

If we kill him or anything of the like, the king wins.

It's on the agenda! Somehow I think it'll boil down to "unnatural schism."

[ she feels for Michel, she really does, but they couldn't keep allowing him to run off into the realm of possibly making everything awful. ]

The king hired ALASTAIR to "get rid of the goblin problem." What disparity between that and the mission we were given.

[ it's not that she wants to fall back on ALASTAIR, especially not after Anwick. she puts her hands on her hips. ]

I wouldn't think of this fine, violent and revolutionary fellow as an obstacle; a piece, maybe.
