So we are to fight. [Odinson is freshly bathed, his hair tied back in a knot. There's a new light in his eyes at the promise of this. Killing robots is a task well-suited to him. This he can do.]

Being newly-come to this group, I know few of you, and few of you know me. I would know the skills and knowledge of those I will fight alongside. Or die alongside, if this enemy is truly so formidable. [The half-smile that follows indicates he doesn't quite believe that's a possibility.]

Myself, I am Odinson, of Asgardia, God of Thunder. [There's the slightest hesitation there, for anyone who'll notice such a thing. Something unsaid.] I have fought across the nine realms of my universe, and will fight here with hammer or blade or my fists until the enemy is routed or I am slain. If any wish to spar or learn to fight in the days before we are summoned to Oska, you have only to call on me.

Likewise, any tacticians or those with knowledge of Oska or the enemy, share your knowledge. We ought have some plan before we are shipped back. [Is that sarcasm???]

[He literally used to spend his days fighting with a man dressed as the American Flag, a man in a red robot suit, a giant green monster, an insect guy, and a woman dressed as a wasp. Anything is possible.

Also, you know. Odinson regularly defends the universe from danger. It's not that weird a job.]

I know neither the enemy nor the battlefield. I will leave the plan to those who do.

That's fair... But I kinda feel like those who really do aren't in any real position to help us.

I mean — you saw Cassie's message, right? They're kinda busy.

Are there none in the Audentes who know Oska? Even a rudimentary map drawn from memory would help.

Ah, yeah, I think Sonia's getting that covered. A bunch of people offered to help her.

Still, there's no real way of knowing what the state of the place is like unless someone on that end can give us more information.

Who are the scouts in our group? Have we a plan to protect them while they survey Oska on our arrival to update us on the enemy locations and movement? Where are the best places for a man to fight multiple enemies at a time? Are there choke points? High ground? Dead ends? What defensible areas are they that we should try to hold, that our healers and non-fighters may be safe there?

[Asgard are a martial set of gods, they've fought in most of the nine realms. As their former champion, Odinson knows what it takes to win a war.]

There are many things to be known other than the number and location of the enemy, Blue Paladin.

Yeah, I got it, I took the tactics class too. [ and studied three times more than the average student just to pass it, thanks. ]

It's good to have preparations, I definitely get that. All I was saying is a map's only going to be useful if the layout of the land hasn't changed that drastically, and unless someone from that side gets back to us, we have no way of knowing.

As for your questions, that's what this broadcast is all about, right? Getting a headcount and knowing what we can do?

Aye, it is. As we know nothing about the enemy, we must know everything about our team.

[Not that he'll be a great team player right now. Just give him a section and he'll smash robots in peace until it's over.]

It would take years to recount everything, but I will make an effort.

It's kinda easy to get impatient when you realize you don't typically have hundreds of years to live...

[Odinson's expression lightens, almost smiling.]

What have you to do that you are so impatient about, Lance the Blue Paladin?

[ he isn't sure if thor is actually asking sincerely, but lance responds as if he had anyway. ]

Honestly? We have our own war to fight back home. We're so close to seeing it through, but now we've lost one of our own. We need to find him. And we need to free everyone else who's been caught and captured too, and make sure the rest of the universe knows that they don't have to be afraid anymore.

And then we need to get home.

[ how long has it been? how long has his family had to think he'll never return? ]

[Odinson remembers what it was like to have important things to do to save his world with the others back home. He didn't realise how much he'd missed it.]

And where is your home?

Earth.

[ there is a resigned sort of way that he says it. both wistful and accepting that it may well be some time yet before he truly sees it again, at least the earth that he knows. ]

You have one in your universe too, right? Are its skies as nice and clear?

Aye.

[His face darkens suddenly. He had been a hero of Earth, before his fall. Again he is reminded of how much he has lost.]

It has been good to speak with you, Blue Paladin Lance.

[ lance definitely catches that, but it seems before he can even question it, thor is eager to end the conversation.
