So we are to fight. [Odinson is freshly bathed, his hair tied back in a knot. There's a new light in his eyes at the promise of this. Killing robots is a task well-suited to him. This he can do.]

Being newly-come to this group, I know few of you, and few of you know me. I would know the skills and knowledge of those I will fight alongside. Or die alongside, if this enemy is truly so formidable. [The half-smile that follows indicates he doesn't quite believe that's a possibility.]

Myself, I am Odinson, of Asgardia, God of Thunder. [There's the slightest hesitation there, for anyone who'll notice such a thing. Something unsaid.] I have fought across the nine realms of my universe, and will fight here with hammer or blade or my fists until the enemy is routed or I am slain. If any wish to spar or learn to fight in the days before we are summoned to Oska, you have only to call on me.

Likewise, any tacticians or those with knowledge of Oska or the enemy, share your knowledge. We ought have some plan before we are shipped back. [Is that sarcasm???]

Well...it's got a lot of cats, for sure. It's been very nice, though. A lot of them let me pet them. [And he does briefly seem very faintly happy about this, at least.] It's a bit sad we're going to leave soon, but I guess it's for the best...

You would stay when our base is under threat? [He seems surprised, almost critical of the idea.]

[Mob blinks back slowly, a very small frown settling on his features.]

Ah, no...not when they're threatened. I think we should help them for sure. I wish they weren't threatened at all, is what I mean.

[Not that he grudges Odinson the assumption, though. Easy enough mistake to make--Mob knows he's still not very good at speaking what he means, sometimes. His attention drifts away from the screen now, thoughtful.]

The cats here are nice, and this place is too...but those people in Oska were nice to me too. Even though I wasn't there very long. [He refocuses on Odinson.] ...Do you think they're going to be okay? When we get there...

[No, he does not expect all the people of Oska to be okay. There are casualties in war, and that is simply something one has to get used to.

But he can't say that to this child.] I hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. There are no guarantees in battle.

[There is a brief pause here as Mob quietly stares at the feed perhaps a moment longer than strictly necessary. If he's taken notice of anything being omitted or dampened down on Odinson's part, however, it's impossible to tell from his expression--which is still more or less blank, with that same small frown.

But then he nods slightly, and the moment passes.]

That makes sense. ...I haven't been in a lot of battles yet, I don't think. But it sounds like you have. Still...

If you do need help while we're there, I'll be trying my best too.

Attempting your best is all that can be expected. [Odinson has been in more battles than he can remember... He tries to think back- how had he felt when he was young? Had he revelled in them as he does now? Had he feared them? He does not trust his own memory that far back.]

If you have need of me on the battlefield, know that you have only to send a prayer to me and I will hear it.

[Ah--apparently this news is surprising enough to actually parse faintly on Mob's face this time, if his startled blink about now is anything to go by.]

A prayer? [Well.......he did say "God" of Thunder in the first video, didn't he? Now that Mob thinks about it. He hadn't figured it was actually that literal, though...wow....he mulls over this for a second or so.] I've never done one of those. Is there a certain way you're supposed to do it, for it to work...?

[... wait never prayed? Don't you have your own gods???]

There is no ritual. You have only to think of me, call unto me, and make your request known. I will hear. [Even Odinson doesn't know exactly how it works, but work it does. Even across the galaxy he has heard prayers made in his name.]

[Man religions talk them up and then you've got regular old Espers who get too high on their own powerlevels and declare themselves gods 24-7 too, back home....Mob has always had his hands full enough just dealing with spirits and such miscellany. He has had yet to meet or see anything that warrants a proper prayer, really...

Until now, apparently??? How awkward......]

So I'll...just call you. And think really hard about you at the same time? Okay... [Mob does sincerely sound as if he's making a mental note on this, even if he can't help the remaining faint uncertainty. New terrain here, for sure.] I'll try to remember that.

From my end...I guess if you need help you can just call me on this network? I'm going to be putting up a barrier, for the healing people. But I can do shields in other places too.

That seems a good use for them. [Odinson will just... assume that you know how to pray now, okay. It's weird to find people who don't do that.]

Norns-willing, you will not see me until after the fighting is done. [Otherwise the robots are going to be a lot stronger than everyone expects.]

I hope they'll be useful, yes. I've only ever used them against evil spirits and other Espers before...so I still need to find something with robot lasers here, to test things. But I think they'll be alright.

I hope so too...that it goes well like that. [But right, might as well try to think positive about this. And why wouldn't Odinson be alright, really? Apparently he's "god" enough for prayers to actually work, so that probably counts for something...Mob is willing to work with this.] I'd rather talk to you again after the fight too. Things would be calmer by then, probably...

Aye, they will be. [Whether it's them or the enemy who's been defeated, it'll be calmer.]

[Why does it always sound infinitely cooler when other people say it like that...Mob can't seem to make it sound like anything but lame. Ah well...

There's a slight and awkward pause, and then Mob raises a hand at his feed with the world's smallest wave. You know...as you do with video calls....he guesses......]
