Hello...hm - fellow victims. Not sure what we call ourselves. Teammates? Comrades? ALASTAIR-ains? Considering we've all been ripped from the homes we know, victim perhaps is apt enough until I begin learning names.

[Ok but that's not what this is all about, so moving on:]

I want to pose some questions regarding the powers many people here seem to have. Both of a magic and genetic variety. I'm a physicist who studies the latter back home, from the angle of how environment can effect the spread of genetic mutation that brings people to have special abilities. The phenomenon is a relatively new one back where I came from, so it's still a topic of curiosity for me.

I'm not as well-versed in magical concepts, but from my standpoint they seem to be akin to miracles - powers that warp reality, even in small ways. And not everyone is predisposed to using them. Many of these sorcerers and witches are among the most powerful beings alive.

[He pauses for a moment, the message stopping as he thinks on his idea before continuing to transmit it through the jewel.]

It's nothing you need to get deep about if you don't prefer to - I just want to know what powers you have and what you use them for. Be it back home, or here, since I imagine the use would be far different given our circumstance.

If you're not keen about talking on your abilities, I'm equally curious about the perception of abilities in different world environments. Are they accepted or reviled? Is it everyday or miraculous? Back in my home, most people are still reluctant to believe. Those who do...well, there are both heroes and villains who use abilities for their own means.

[There's another pause, shorter, and then he softly laughs before going on.]

The multiverse is a vast realm of infinite possibilities. I like to learn as many of those possibilities as possible, if people wish to indulge me. Curiosity is a vicious bug.

Accepting, for the most part. Sometimes we get a little bit... reckless. But, that's besides the point.

My specialty? Ah... Well, that's an innate power most of my kind has. We're able to summon weapons. If I had to say what I'm best at is probably planning and organization strategies, with the aid of my holograms.

So you're the team strategist. I share a...similar role, back home. I worked with those who have powers and seek to use them to protect the public at large, all the while studying those abilities to help them improve.

[Oh, what a kind fellow! Helping out those who are willing to help the public with their powers.]

So humans in your world... develop different powers?

[hsalf]

[Very much so.]

Yes. An explosion of energy into the atmosphere caused people's genetics to mutate, causing them to gain different powers based on their circumstance when they were hit. Some of them are harmless, but many more are deadly. And not all people want to use those powers for good.

[beyourrock]

I could imagine.

[A huge explosion, huh? Wow. Pearl shutters at the thought of hundreds, or even more, humans suddenly given super powers.]

But you've been maintaining them, correct? With your help? Does Earth have the necessary resources to handle such an... outbreak of sorts?

We've done the best that we could. Thankfully the majority of people affected are those who were closest to the blast radius, and many have remained within the same city.

[He pauses at the mention of resources and sighs.]

Unfortunately, we have to do our best not to involve outside parties - the government of my world has already made attempts to harness these people as human weapons for their own senseless wars. I don't trust them with such sensitive matters.

Ah, even better then, even if you have to work under the radar.

Well, I'm glad a man like yourself is here to help assist. I'm sure there will be people who are summoned here, who aren't as well acquainted with their powers as they should be.

[She's also heard of people obtaining new powers, thanks to ALASTAIR's doing.]

Do you have any powers, Mr....?

Harrison Wells. And no, I do not. I study them, but I wasn't affected by the blast that gave others their own.

[Not so much a lie as a stretch of the truth - he had his powers long before the explosion.]

I would hope that anyone gaining powers from ALASTAIR does not take them lightly. We don't really know much about what this organization is capable of, other than knowing they are a powerful force to reckon with. Bringing so many people here from across the universe is daunting to say the least.

Ah, yes. It's even a testament to ALASTAIR's own power. I mean, bringing this many people all the way here, from different worlds, just to do their bidding. That's a frightening thought to say the least. I've never experience 'world hopping' quite like this before. I've already heard of different versions of Earth already.

The concept of different worlds isn't a strange one to me, but I'm intrigued by how ALASTAIR is capable of outright pulling people in.

I think they may be ripping apart realities to do this, personally. There's no way you can travel between worlds or entire universes without damaging the fabric of time and space.
