Allow me to take this opportunity to formally thank all of you. I was held in prison for some time along with some others. I understand how much trouble you went through just to aid us.

There isn't a lot I can do to repay the favor. For that I apologize.

On another note, I'd like to ask you all a question.

What do you know about magic? I've been intrigued by its concept and origins for some time, yet I hardly know anything. Magic is a difficult thing for me to grasp. I'd appreciate it if we could sit down and discuss it in detail.

It has to be, really. Magic will have to follow the laws of physics. That's a solid rule.

But seriously, it depends. A water spell would create water out of mid-air, right? With the right equipment and enough time, I could do the same with science. See what I mean?

It'd be more efficient to use magic in that case. Science may be similar in some regards, but magic seems to give off an immediate effect.

Learning how to master it could prove to be advantageous. [Think of all the time you could save...]

Recently ALASTAIR has granted me the ability to cast magic. Someone of my nature who has no prior knowledge can't make full use of it.
