Allow me to take this opportunity to formally thank all of you. I was held in prison for some time along with some others. I understand how much trouble you went through just to aid us.

There isn't a lot I can do to repay the favor. For that I apologize.

On another note, I'd like to ask you all a question.

What do you know about magic? I've been intrigued by its concept and origins for some time, yet I hardly know anything. Magic is a difficult thing for me to grasp. I'd appreciate it if we could sit down and discuss it in detail.

Magic is pretty common where I come from. As far as I know anybody can learn to use it, actually, though some people seem to have more of a knack for it than others. Lot'a people say it comes from the heart, but... I have to disagree, I think it's all a mental thing.

Is there somethin' specific you wanna know, or...? I'm just not really sure how to like... try and explain it all in one go.

I'll keep that in mind. How would you normally control it? Is it something that comes to you naturally?

In my experience, definitely.

Mm, well... it takes a lot of concentration, at least when you first start out. It's a little different for everyone, I think, but the way I learned was to imagine the way the subject of your intended spell made you feel. [Heh, well. How it used to make him feel. You know, when he'd been able to.] So, like, for example: if you're trying to cast Fire, just something small, think of a match or a candle. Whatever those things mean to you, focus on them, and try and channel that feeling into your hands.

So obviously, certain spells come more naturally to certain people, depending on your experiences with elements and situations.

It... gets more complicated with higher-level stuff and spell-melding and so on, but... that's the basic gist, I'd say.

You can never be too certain when it comes to these things. I admit that I'm always quite baffled to see people using it so casually.

My biggest gripe is it has no standard base definition between all these variations everyone claims. Until someone comes forward with one, the idea collectively is ridiculous to me.

Where I'm from, you might consider it the life force that exists in all living things, in greater or lesser degrees.

Not everyone can make use of it, and in more modern eras, the number of those who can has diminished since ancient times.

It is a well-kept secret from most of the world now, though it wasn't always so.

[It shouldn't be used thoughtlessly. Just think of what could happen if power fell into the wrong hands. ]

People still practice it in your world. They must spend a great deal of time training in order to fully utilize its potential.

There are mage families that spend entire lifetimes and generations perfecting their art and passing it down to their children.

Magic is, well...magic is just science that lacks time and funding. That's basically what it is. It's pretty abstract, at that. If you showed off an airplane to someone who couldn't dream of flying, they'd call that magic.

Its fundamentals are similar to science in a way. [That's what he's taking from this.]

It has to be, really. Magic will have to follow the laws of physics. That's a solid rule.

Magic? It's....only certain people can use it back home. I'm one of them myself. Though really, Kero-chan or Syaoran-kun would probably be better at explaining than me. What did you want to know, exactly? I know my magic might be different from others, with the Clow Cards. With them I can also read fortunes. And sometimes my dreams, Kero-chan calls them prophetic, where I can see something that is going to happen.

There must be some kind of setback to it. Casting magic without a cost--that just seems too convenient.

In this world, I'm not really sure yet how exactly magic works. So far I know that those with goblin blood can use it, but hopefully their blood isn't the source of it. ( because blood magic is never good )

It may be related to their genetic structure rather than their blood.

This world is still shrouded in mystery to us, but yes I look forward to working with you all the same.

As for the specifics---What kind of magic are you familiar with and how frequently is it used?

[No one uses magic in the Far East Branch. The closest thing they have to it is the Power of Blood. It activates through their will but it isn't exactly magic either.]
