[the video opens to display the... somewhat incriminating desk of one rin tohsaka. are those vials and knives? yes, those are vials and knives. a few of the vials contain weird-colored liquids but don’t think about it too much.
apparently this is no reason for a tiny cygnet not to be hopping all over everywhere, chirping happily and nibbling away at a slice of apple rin holds between chopsticks. the gray downy baby swan wears a black collar inlaid with beautiful amethysts and diamonds. lazily leaning her cheek onto her hand, she speaks.]
I’ve developed a means of repelling that godawful holiday plant and withering any sprigs of mistletoe in your immediate vicinity. Simply state clearly,
"Verkümmern, Mistel."
And they’ll die. The catalyst for the enchantment has been sprinkled all across Chantes, so the spell should work wherever you are. Just don’t say the words wrong; I can’t be held responsible for what might happen, in that case.
[r.i.p. thirst. anyway, rin reveals a strange object that those more modern-familiar in alastair will recognize as a bedazzler gun.]
Now, then.
[rin sets down the apple (much to baby swan's dismay!) and calls to the servant carrying a tea tray behind her.]
Archer.
[a tall man in black armor and a pink apron glances over his shoulder. only his back is visible.
she spins her finger, gesturing for him to turn around. he does so with a rather impressive line face. there's a sword bedazzled out of shiny silver rhinestones stuck right to the front of his apron, just at chest level. rin faces the network again.]
Can anyone tell me what this [she lifts up the bedazzler gun and frowns in disgust/confusion.] is? The designs it creates are awfully tacky.

No, it's not a game. The rhinestones are cheap-looking and gaudy without being beautiful, aren't they? The only purpose of this thing is decorating your clothes with them. What comes out as the finished product will always be hideous, don't you think?

Masamune is quiet a moment, considering her commentary as he props his head up with his hand to his mouth and jaw. A small hum escapes him, muffled by his hand before he drops it to force himself to straighten up in his sitting position. He'll wake up eventually ... or lose and pass back out soon. ] I hoped it was just the video that made them cheap looking but in this case it's true. If you aren't even starting with quality items, it'll always have a bad look at the end. Where did you get it?
[ ...or surprise he's actually pretty picky on fashion and appearance despite this unfortunate meeting! Granted the longer she talks to him the more it's probably going to look less like he got himself trashed partying and more like a little kid who stayed up too late to watch the newest episode of their favorite tv show.
Although, he does seem to at least be managing to keep the conversation instead of starting to talk nonsense... not related to the subject, anyway.
Yeah, this whole lack of sunlight thing is starting to get to him a little. (But archer's in a pink apron and has a teenage girl as his master to boss him around go could he not say something...?!) ]

[rin furrows her brow, thinking and confused. he does make a surprisingly good point. (it's surprising because she thought for sure he was wasted out of his mind.) of course, she understands the basics of fashion—cheap begets cheap—but then, there's no use for the present she was given.]

she turns around and faces the bed behind her, leaning over to mess with some things that for now go unseen, but she's definitely fiddling around with the bedazzler gun.

[ he sure wishes he was wasted out of his mind because nothing quite manages to perk his alertness quite like that skirt shot, thank you, Rin.
His brain just blanks and he opens his mouth to say something but closes it, wondering if perhaps it is worse to say something about it rather than simply let her do her thing and act like it never happened.
Yeah no big deal. Now if only he could stop staring but it's like dead air on the radio in the Leader of Oushuu's mind and so nothing happens. Nothing registers.

That's exactly the answer he wanted to hear. Out of all the people he has passively tested on similar wavelengths, she is definitely the first to so accurately mirror his own. It's important enough that he can stop everything and focus on this, even move back to the camera with a grin. Color him impressed!
This puts skirt situation second to something about Rin, so now she is no longer mainly associated in his head by default with skirt shots. As much as he can enjoy those this is a much preferred situation. ]

...but man her question does put favor on Gilgamesh's previous claims. What a thing to wrap his mind around. But, whatever, that's later when he feels like punishing himself.
The thing is Masamune chooses only to answer her last question, although why isn't clear. It could be because he is and expects that no words need to confirm rather only deny. ...Or vice versa. We just don't know.
It's also possible he is simply distracted by her last question that is supported to be more a presumption than as he seems a bit surprised. ]
No, anything can be a weapon in the right hands. [ he pauses before he scoffs, his alert interest seeming to fade out. It's like an excited kid that misinterpreted and just received the sad clarification they were totally wrong and excited for nothing. Disappointment is the worst..!! Especially in this dumb place. It leads to ... boredom on his part. :( ]
That toy as is would be more of a weapon now in my hands than you'll ever manage to change it into in yours, you know? But, choice of weapon type usually suggests certain traits about them and other things that have nothing to do with actually being a weapon, right?
I mean, someone who prefers close-range style versus long range or even weaponry made to snipe or simply be used as a shield to avoid hurting any party only the bare minimum required.
[ aka he's performing scan profiling via a toy... or trying to anyway but teenage girls --even smart ones apparently-- gotta make everything more difficult than necessary. ]

That's a bold claim! If you're from so long ago how can you say you'd know the first thing to do with it? I bet you don't even know the feel of it in your hands. If you're asking for the type of weapon I'm going to make it into, it'll be a gun that shoots magic and projectile spells for swift and instant death!
