[ standing amid the outer rim of the forest are two (possibly) familiar looking godlings. the one with the long hair is smoking a cigarette and pointedly ignoring the events transpiring in front of him, while the younger one clad ostentatiously in green enamel scales and a golden diadem seems to be giving the stink eye to an innocent looking pigeon.

the dark haired green one shakes his finger, flicking away some dried blood. ]

Ah—do we declare a state of emergency? [ he drawls with a sigh, bright green eyes fixing back on the camera. ] Before the I told you sos begin, we're missing one very volatile halfling mage. It seems that he's consorting with demons and the like.

Please return him if you see him, and try not to kill him.

Has he given us enough reason to? Should he die, for trying to aid his people?

( she scoffs at that because, by the Maker, has she heard this very same argument before. she's sympathetic, make no mistake about that, but she herself is part of a minoirty that's been hurt because of vigilantes who employ this kind of thinking. )

Aiding them, no, but I think almost killing all of them and everyone else is reason enough. Not to mention he's not doing them any favours with his one man mission.

He has likely written his own death warrant, at this stage.

Do you have a personal preference as to his fate?

( now Hawke is genuinely curious. a shrug is one thing, but she wasn't expecting such a measured indifference after all the effort she imagines it would've taken to keep a hand on such a dangerous man. )

Not particularly. We attempted to contain and reason with him. If he refuses to listen and continues to act in a way that harms others, then he must know there are those who will try to kill him.

Apparently you failed on both counts. ( a slight pause, as she considers. ) Do you really think he wasn't aware of that? He made an awful lot of enemies when he tried to kill everyone. Given his actions, I don't think he particularly cares about his personal safety.

I find that fanatics rarely think about their personal safety, while attempting to execute their plans. Not that it matters, now.

Who knows, maybe he gets off on the danger? Though, if you don't mind me asking, why'd you bother trying to save him if you don't care about the outcome?

So it's more of a favour for them? ( honestly, she's kind of curious. she's having a really hard time pegging him and his motivations. )
