[ Wherever Undyne is, there's a good view of the lake. She's had her ups and downs lately, but at the moment, she's looking very up, with a grin of excessively sharp and almost shark-like teeth. ]
So ALASTAIR doesn't want to lead us. Or help us out on missions. Or do anything even a little bit helpful for us! Maybe if they did, people wouldn't end up dead.
[ There's an I told you so in there somewhere, though she's probably not alone. After talking to Uruz and some of the other more tenured ALASTAIR employees, it seems like they're on their own to keep things together from now on. Those evaluations stung her hard, because she knows she can be part of something better. But this isn't the Underground, and King Asgore's not here to call the shots. And if ALASTAIR won't do it either, then who will? ]
So that means we have to help ourselves. We're gonna have to find a better way of making decisions as a unit. If everyone just does whatever they want, then we're going to keep getting a 6 out of 10! I want 10 out of 10 next time, or maybe even 11 out of 10!
If we work together, we can make it happen and get perfect marks. So, let's hear it! I know there are some other leader types out there. Wasn't someone else asking about that before?! But I already know how I'd do it, but I wanna know how you would do it!
[ Well. It's worthy a try, anyway. If nothing else, Papyrus will probably be proud of her... ]

[ Just being a hero to everyone was tiring enough, and wasn't even that fulfilling in the end. Trying to be more than one thing for everyone just seems like it would be even more tiring, and she's started to enjoy just being herself. ]
That can't be it, there has to be one or two things that almost everyone admires.

[ Papyrus brings a hand up to his chin, stroking it in thought. Who was someone that all monsters respected besides Undyne... ]
... I know! What do you admire about King Fluffyboy??

[ She wants to be offended, but let's be real, Asgore would probably just laugh if he heard it. Besides, she has more important things on her mind. ]
Well, Asgore is nice, like you! But he's always so calm and rational too. I don't know how he does it?!
[ Which is to say, she doesn't think she could ever actually be like Asgore. Thinking of all the crap she's given him over the years, and how patient he was with her, of all monsters... she doesn't know if she could ever match that. ]

Rational! Okay, well there's a start! People like rational things!
[Which might be hard, because Undyne is by definition Not Rational.]

[ She scoffs. She really appreciates the effort, she does, but this seems so pointless, and what is she even trying for?
She's trying for... ]
Alright!! I'll try to work on being rational! Not because I want to, but because I have to help you, and Sans. And Frisk and Alphys, even though they're not here, and King Asgore even though he'd be way better about it! And dear, sweet, precious Napstablook, and all our other friends back in th-- back wherever they are right now!

But you can carry it!! You're the Hero, it's you!!

[ Since there's like. Two. That's not much of a burden, and she's been kind of enjoying not having that weight resting on her shoulders all the time.
And maybe, just maybe, being a hero doesn't mean you go looking for people to idolize you, but that you do the right thing and stick to your principles, and people will recognize your courage and achievements on their own.
...nah. ]

[ Here he is, assuming Undyne doesn't fucking sleep, like himself. ]

It just felt weird.

She hesitates for a moment, not sure what to say to that, before coming to a conclusion with renewed resolve. ]
Papyrus! Don't give up! I'll be your sleep hero too! I'm not giving up on you yet!!

[ Just let her have this moment. Nothing will come of it, but she'll feel good about herself. ]

Then alright!! I accept you as my sleep hero!! I still won't be sleeping a lot though. But it's reassuring to know that if I do, you will be there!!
