[ Undyne had said she wanted more guidance from ALASTAIR. Here she is, with more guidance, and she doesn’t know if she likes it. Looking more ragged than ever, she’s standing with Pearl, with the volcano Nalalona in the background. ]

Alright chumps, listen up, it’s time for some teamwork! ALASTAIR has some ideas about what we can do to get the volcano going again, so everyone can get their powers back. ...it’s going to involve a bomb.

[Pearl clears her throat, despite the fact her body is flickering in and out of view at some points during the video. The Gem stands tall as she gestures back to the volcano.]

This is correct. ALASTAIR has entrusted us with schematics of creating a bomb and a catapult. It’s up to us to gather the necessary supplies and assemble them.

They have observed a high level of tectonic plate activity here, near the Nalalona volcano. With enough force -- the bomb in this case -- we can possibly trigger an eruption and restore the natives’ Gifts, along with our own magical abilities. The volcano’s opening is large enough for us to hit our mark with the bomb. It’s up to us to put it all together.

We can’t afford to not try. Look around you, half our team relies on magic just to exist. This isn’t just about helping the natives use magic anymore, this about saving ourselves. If you don’t use magic, good for you, but if you have a heart, you’ll understand why this is important, and why if I catch anyone slacking off, they’ll be answering to my spear about why they don't think it's important. Got it?!

[Pearl glances to Undyne and offers her a weak smile. The situation they were all facing was quite dire. She faces the feed again.]

I know we have the ability to make this work. And we will, if we all work together on this. Every little bit helps!

Probably the same thing you have against protecting your fellow recruits who are made of the magic that's really quickly disappearing. The difference is that while you sit around and think about something that's might not even happen, I'm going to do something about it.

If you have evidence, or a plan, or a better idea, let's hear it.

Half of us aren't going to be here to make any choices at all! You want to explore the volcano? Go ahead, but I think we've done enough exploring and not enough acting. If ALASTAIR says it's the source of magic to begin with, and nobody else has any other evidence, where do you think the magic is coming from?

Well, they must, because absolutely no essence found in a coconut would help an explosion.

[Pinch pinch pinch.]

Perhaps we should prepare a more scientifically based one in case this other does not do the trick...

I'll draw them up and consult with the others I know- I'm not saying this won't work, I'm just saying it's more spell than science if it calls for things such as that. Perhaps it will work- but it's always best to have a backup plan.

And an evacuation one, in this case.

I already said I knew we had to stick with the plan we have.

We don't have a choice. All I'm asking is that we figure out how to make sure everyone's safe while we build it so nothing happens if something goes wrong.

[ and he narrows his eyes. ]

I think this plan is bogus and dangerous, but don't say that I don't wanna save the people that're suffering--I already said a few times I'll go with it as long as we're careful. You're just not listening.

Fine. Whatever, do what you want. Ask the natives before you go deciding on any kind of evacuation plan, though. Let them follow their own if they have one, it'll be easier than teaching them a new one.

[Coming from a man who puts legs on boats. But still. Catapulting a bomb into a volcano... he knows a lot of reckless people, and even they wouldn't try it.]

[ He's hitting all of her already-frayed nerves, and she's already scared and frustrated... ]

You're not listening. You want to make sure everyone's safe? What's your idea to keep everyone safe, then?! I don't get any of this science crap, so why don't you look at the plans, tell me what it is you think is gonna go wrong, and what you want done about it. Or you can go bother ALASTAIR about it, and make them give us a plan. I'm not wasting my time with finding solutions to a problem you won't even explain besides saying it's dangerous while you accuse me of not wanting to protecting people

Protecting people is what I do, but I'm not gonna be protecting much of anything as a pile of dust.

One of the Kittybosses said the physical composition of things here may be different to what we're used to. Any idea about outward appearances? Can I still expect coconuts to be as brown and hairy as a wild hog?

[ Undyne watches, and can't really be horrified, but saddened. She reaches out to try and touch Pearl instead, but pulls her hand back when she realizes that's stupid and won't have a better result. ]

Yeah. Assets. [ She sighs and draws a hand or a face. ] Alphys would know what to do if she were here. Or Asgore. They're way better with this kind of stuff than I am.

[ For some reason, she sounds stern as she says that; it's not that se needs to assert it, but the fact that she just doesn't want to think about that any more than she already is. Even if she's the one bringing it up.

When she continues, it's with more weariness. ]

Has anyone identified whether fish hearts, urchins, and plants from these islands retain magical properties on their own? Even while us and the natives are losing ours?
