[ Undyne had said she wanted more guidance from ALASTAIR. Here she is, with more guidance, and she doesn’t know if she likes it. Looking more ragged than ever, she’s standing with Pearl, with the volcano Nalalona in the background. ]

Alright chumps, listen up, it’s time for some teamwork! ALASTAIR has some ideas about what we can do to get the volcano going again, so everyone can get their powers back. ...it’s going to involve a bomb.

[Pearl clears her throat, despite the fact her body is flickering in and out of view at some points during the video. The Gem stands tall as she gestures back to the volcano.]

This is correct. ALASTAIR has entrusted us with schematics of creating a bomb and a catapult. It’s up to us to gather the necessary supplies and assemble them.

They have observed a high level of tectonic plate activity here, near the Nalalona volcano. With enough force -- the bomb in this case -- we can possibly trigger an eruption and restore the natives’ Gifts, along with our own magical abilities. The volcano’s opening is large enough for us to hit our mark with the bomb. It’s up to us to put it all together.

We can’t afford to not try. Look around you, half our team relies on magic just to exist. This isn’t just about helping the natives use magic anymore, this about saving ourselves. If you don’t use magic, good for you, but if you have a heart, you’ll understand why this is important, and why if I catch anyone slacking off, they’ll be answering to my spear about why they don't think it's important. Got it?!

[Pearl glances to Undyne and offers her a weak smile. The situation they were all facing was quite dire. She faces the feed again.]

I know we have the ability to make this work. And we will, if we all work together on this. Every little bit helps!

[ OOC note: There will be a mod-posted mass log on the 16th for gathering/construction/etc. Pearl and Undyne will be around, and feel free to use this post to chat among each other as well! ]

Getting paid? N-No. No one is getting paid for this.

There's a possibility we could restore some magic back to ALASTAIR recruits and the Nawali.

[ he waves a hand in the air, dispelling some of the smoke that's gathered in front of his face. relax, pearl, beneath all this ash is a heart of gol— ]

I mean the whole mission in general.

Well, they're more like gifts. I was given a clam bed, a pair of ballet shoes and ah... pet giant bird.

but in the next his lips are twisting, and he's back to grinning, if not a bit too wryly. ]

Gotta say I ain't finding much of a pattern there.

I will have to agree with you on that. It is all rather odd.

But who knows what you might get! [Pearl grins a little herself.]

You might be pleasantly surprised one day.

[ there is a thoughtful pause, in which badou takes a long, long drag of his cigarette. ]

[Pearl tilts her head, blinking.]

[ suddenly he's ten years old ]

My back's killing me! Y'know how hard it is twisting an' turning to try and fit into these lil' guys' furniture? I'm dying!

[She was not expecting that and.. her hand lifts to her mouth to muffle a small laugh. Pearl grins.]

They are quite small, aren't they? Have you tried the public baths? Maybe that will help with your soreness.

Shit yeah, they're small! They're about two feet too small and it's murder on my spine, lemme tell ya.

[ though he probably shouldn't complain too loudly, they are letting him board for free after all... ]

These baths though... They safe?

[While the locals could be quite closed off and tense, she hasn't heard anything bad about it.]

I haven't been in there myself but, as long as you don't anger the locals, I believe you can take a bath peacefully.

he's a city boy, pearl, you gotta cut him some slack here; he'd just been concerned about the whole, y'know, outdoors thing. now he gotta worry about angry deerfolk?? shit! ]

[Pearl crosses her arms and quirks a brow.]

I don't think it will anger them, unless you intend to push it too far. [POINTED LOOK.]

Besides, we're probably 'strange' to them, being over four feet tall.

but anyway he makes a gruff sound at that. ]

In my experience, being 'strange' is a good first step in inciting anger.

[Actually, that hits home for her. And it rings true. Her ace falls a fraction, shifting her weight. She puffs up her chest.]

We are the ones helping them, strange or not. I would hope that they would at least be appreciative of our efforts.

Heh, that's the hope, ain't it.

[ he looks pensive again, leaning back slightly so that his gaze shifts to something low and off-screen. ]

Good intentions are nice an' all... but sometimes sticking your nose where it don't belong only puts ya in the position to lose something.

[Pearl's arms hang loosely at her sides before she lifts one hand to rub at her temple.]

You have a point. Everyone does in this situation. I just hope something comes out of this. Something in which it could lead us in the right direction to maybe even finding this goddess of theirs.

We'll have to see what happens.

[Pearl would hope that some goddess wouldn't just abandon her people like that. After helping them in a war. The Gem shrugs her shoulders, furrowing her brow.]

Then the Nawali will have to seek out other gods or goddesses to look up to. Or... learn fend for themselves.
