[shortly after the storm clears on may 11th and the network connection between both sides of the group is reestablished, the following post appears:]

We're fine, as far as I know. I don't think anyone's dead, at least.

The storm that separated us was brought about by a Dakal named Pomarr. Some of you may remember her as our feline friend who sold her soul to Ryba—or whatever it is she did—to continue to live on after death.

She swept us to an island that looked like it was raised from the seafloor. It wasn't a vacation, but there were definitely remnants of what those big cats must have called home.

Her plan is to revive her entire race, in the same way Ryba "revived" her. As if life-or-death deals with shady goddesses aren't concerning enough, she wants to grant Ryba the power to carry out this mass revival by having her suck Nalanni dry. Pomarr understandably doesn't care much for Nalanni after she drowned everyone she loved; in fact, she showed us this in morbid detail. She's taken Nalanni. Hence, all the Nalawi losing their Gifts and all of this inconvenience we have to deal with.

Pomarr knows where Nalanni is, but she's asking us not to interfere, and she wouldn't give us the opportunity to speak with Nalanni when I requested it. For some reason, she didn't expect that we would be suffering like the Nalawi are. She's promised to try to fix that.

What do we do now, ALASTAIR? I can share anything else you want to know about our meeting with Pomarr, or Yukimura Sanada-san or Mr. Keats can, but this is most of it. We have a situation where the balance of this whole world might be upended if we sit and twiddle our thumbs.

I don't think I need to remind anyone of the potential consequences of messing with either goddess. Or a litter of zombie cats roaming free.

(( ooc: infodump for rin, yukimura, and keats' conversation with a dakal npc, for one of the plot slots! feel free to handwave your character (in either the marooned group or the left behind group) learned this info by reading the post or talking with rin/yukimura/keats/another recruit. yukimura and keats may also be replying to tags! ))

[Appears next to masamune and just huffs at him, a little frustrated.]

So what is your plan then, Lord Masamune?

actions

[ just stress eats while waiting on babby tiger or something. ]

If there's a way we can track down the highest concentration of power here to an area, Pomarr should be there, right? Since this all has to do with the ritual?

[masamune he literally stood there and looked as threatening as he could in case pomarr decided to take a shot at rin or something why are you asking him?? talk to rin about it??]

... I would assume? [Maybe?] Lady Tohsaka asked to speak to Nalanni and she refused her, so it's likely Pomarr may know or be in the same location as Nalanni. If the magic from the ritual isn't enough, perhaps searching for godly energy would be a temporary help as well.

Hm... things are really messy.

That sounds like something of an understatement.

[There a pause, and sighs heavily.]

People are so fired up and passionate about taking down the gods. Perhaps it is because I got here late, but I cannot bring myself to feel that way if we run the risk of wiping out the native people here in the process.

[He can understand clans and survival over the actions of gods. Just a little more.]

There are a lot of people here who would see that as wrong, and that does not seem right to me.

No, being here one length of time versus another isn't the problem. It has to do with it being taken as personal. They super impose their own situations onto the current one and see the injustice they felt. It's like being given a second chance to fight back to them. They are just particularly obnoxious here rather than sympathetic.

There is a lot of... shouting going on, yes. Our ideas of justice are built on what we grew up with, but I do not think we can apply how justice works in our worlds to the ones we are visiting.

For one, we do not have to live with the consequences of acting rashly.

It's true, but, we can't hope everyone to follow what is right when their emotions get involved. A lot of these people can't even see when they are projecting even when it's pointed out. All I can say is we have to stick by our own values as much as we believe them and not yield to the more emotionally stubborn.

Don't ever let them mistake your tolerance for acceptance. And remember, nothing about this job is being a 'good guy'.

[Life lessons from Masamune.]

By projecting, they are falling short of seeing how their actions could have extreme consequences. For them as well, as we are still weakened in comparison to normal.

Unfortunately, until they are wrong, I don't think they will think better of it.

If we have to interfere, we will.

They are very set in what they want to do, yes.

Would that work?
