Like a few others here, I'm among those who met the goddess Nalanni. And like others there are things I learned from having a conversation with her. First and foremost, I'd like to request some help in conveying a message she intended for her people.
She wanted them to know that she loves them, and that she knows they can go on without her.
At the time, I was struck with the thought that she'd considered her own passing a possibility. And now that I've seen mentions of slaying gods here, it seems she wasn't wrong. Maybe some of you know more than me, but I'm not convinced it's the only way. Having said that, I'm not blind to the reality that those are our orders, and that there are those who will follow them.
I'm more interested in helping the Nalawi. I gave my word that I would do whatever I could, and so... To those who are already making efforts to ensure the Nalawi are able to sustain themselves, whatever may come, I'd like to volunteer any help I can provide.
If anyone wants further information on the conversation I had with Nalanni, please let me know. I'm unsure how much would be redundant, since admittedly, I've picked up on recent developments here and there.

I'll have to see if I can get in touch with her, in that case. The way you say that though, did people not split up intentionally?

Nine weeks, roughly, by my count - though ALISTAIR has been sending in new people throughout.
And no - there was a magically created storm, and it carried about half our number to another island.
no subject
That must have been difficult with transportation being out of commission here. Was that storm also Pomarr?

We all seem to get given the bare minimum necessary to operate - if that. Unfortunately we don't have much leverage against our... employers. [captors, really. Which is fully implied in his tone of voice]
It was - has she been spotted again? I was one of the group left here, so most of my knowledge is second-hand.

[He trails off, recognizing the one applied to employers but only coming this close to commenting upon it]
She used the same method to expel me from the caves where she was keeping Nalanni. From what I've heard, I think others like myself had similar experiences.

I'm in full agreement - and it leaves us to argue among our selves, which is a waste of time and resources.
Ah, I see. I suspect you encountering the goddess was not a part of Pomarr's plans.

[Any pertinent information was usually made available to operatives working on a particular case in the CCG. The only trouble came from competition, usually, or a lack of information to start with.
But they were investigators for a reason. How are recruits like them classified...?]
I believe you're right, since I'm unsure how anyone would find themselves there intentionally. The tunnels were like a huge maze.
no subject
Significantly more. I haven't decided yet if it's deliberate sabotage or just incompetence.
It might be ALISTAIR's doing, but I suspect Nalanni may have had something to do with that lucky placement, too...
no subject
[Though he'd hope no one would waste the resources gathering them would've demanded only to undermine everything they were supposed to do]
Now that you mention it, she didn't seem surprised I was there, as far as I could tell. I wasn't sure if she was simply too weary to react, but that could've been a factor in why her energy was so low, if it were the case.
no subject
I know. [nothing here is reassuring, honestly]
It seems a little beyond ALISTAIR's skill to have placement that accurate - either it was sheer luck, or she had a part in it.
no subject
[He trails off, considering that]
Though if it was Nalanni, I wonder what she hoped for.
no subject
Aid - or perhaps simply recognition. I can't claim to know her mind.
Though ALISTAIR may not want us conversing with her - they gave us the order to kill her, after all. Easier to do when you don't know the person.
no subject
If ALASTAIR only provides us with the side of the story that suits their aims, that's troubling.
no subject
But not unexpected. [propaganda has always been A Thing, after all] Leaving us to sort out the real truth of the matter.
no subject
no subject
Mm. Unfortunately true. But it would lend some clarity to our situation, at least.

[ooc: Oh gosh, sorry about randomly switching fonts...]
no subject
Likewise. Even if we can't change anything for the moment.
[ooc: no worries!]

Or the most effective, no.
no subject
If only we knew the thought process behind it.

A few people have actually spoken with individuals higher up in ALISTAIR, though I myself haven't. I'm not sure how enlightening the conversations were, though.

I don't know - I wasn't here when most of it happened.
