Like a few others here, I'm among those who met the goddess Nalanni. And like others there are things I learned from having a conversation with her. First and foremost, I'd like to request some help in conveying a message she intended for her people.
She wanted them to know that she loves them, and that she knows they can go on without her.
At the time, I was struck with the thought that she'd considered her own passing a possibility. And now that I've seen mentions of slaying gods here, it seems she wasn't wrong. Maybe some of you know more than me, but I'm not convinced it's the only way. Having said that, I'm not blind to the reality that those are our orders, and that there are those who will follow them.
I'm more interested in helping the Nalawi. I gave my word that I would do whatever I could, and so... To those who are already making efforts to ensure the Nalawi are able to sustain themselves, whatever may come, I'd like to volunteer any help I can provide.
If anyone wants further information on the conversation I had with Nalanni, please let me know. I'm unsure how much would be redundant, since admittedly, I've picked up on recent developments here and there.

I think they can manage it, but that does not mean it will not be difficult. some might argue a world without magic might be safer than the alternative.
no subject
Might that be true of any power? In the absence of magic there's technology, and either could be used for good or ill, it would seem. Though in this case, their technological advances seem to have been limited in favor of the Gifts they'd been accustomed to.

I've seen more magical destruction then technological. it seems too easy to lose yourself to it. you might have a point, though, I just have less experience with it.
no subject
I might likewise have a bias from my own experiences. Where I'm from, magic only existed in works of fiction, so technology was what we had to rely on.
no subject
there was no lack of it in mine, at least, the one I was born in. magic always has a price yet I've always found it wasn't high enough to keep it from being used for ill.
no subject
Power, but at a cost... Some things where I come from work in this way, though not all. I can see why magic would be riskier than technology, when looking at it that way.
no subject
you're not wrong that either could be deadly in the wrong hands, though. sometimes I forget all technology is capable of.
no subject
It seems magic has its own sense of consequences as well. Suppose either can be trouble, depending on who's involved.
no subject
( ALASTAIR was the one that decided the comings and goings. no matter how he disagreed he couldn't control them. )
either or both, given the circumstances. and they each are difficult to fight, in their own way.
no subject
I can only imagine. Maybe at a better time, I can ask what your experience is with magic, or rather, how it compares to what little we see here.
In the meanwhile, we'll just have to do what we can here.

if what I know can help a mission at hand, then I would share it.
I'll see to a class for you and send you the details.

( be nice to his tiny teacher, ok. )
I'll get the group together and you can discuss timing with them. whatever works best for you, I'd think.
no subject
And I'd appreciate that. Since I'm new, I don't mind adapting to others, so knowing their schedules would be very helpful.

a new arrival, I take it. you'll find the way of things soon enough. my name is Graham. if you have questions about missions, let me know. in the meantime I'll organize a class for you.

Thank you for the information, and for your help. Call me Haise if you like.
no subject
Haise... You may need to show me how to pronounce that, but Haise it is. I will contact you soon when I have a group together.
no subject
When we're able to speak, I'll be sure to do that. I'll look forward to hearing from you.
