[ apologies, alastair, but this particular video will start off with a sharp (but brief!) squeal of joy.
it takes a second, but eventually the hologram will focus, and the image of a very excited-looking olivia will come into view. for those that have known her before this, she might appear a little different than she did before, but there is definitely no mistaking that kind of bubbley, nervous energy, the kind she can barely seem to contain right now. ]
Ohmygosh, hi! It's so good to be back...
[ nothing against nalawi, of course, but those extra three months behind had been tough on her more sentimental heart. she missed you guys!!
the more perceptive ones might have noted her absence in oska (though it had only been for two days), though she is hardly the only case of random absence then sudden reappearance among their number. she does, however, come with news!
apologies for the following gushing... ]
Just in case anyone wanted to know, the Nalawi are doing fine, and they send their regards! The few of us that were able to stay behind these last three months did our best to help them along. Most of their homes and major buildings have been rebuilt, and they now have fresh water wells to collect from. Sieglinde was so. cool. teaching them all about their own flora and helping them with medicine and healing. And Peter and Anakin were so smart, you guys — they set up a radio for them to be able to communicate between islands! But, you know, if the Nalawi prefer face-to-face contact, they could just make use of one of Laedo's teleportation portals... which are 100% a thing!
[ she didn't know they could be a thing! did you?! ]
Ohmygosh and then Alisha was amazing — she practically helped them rebuild a whole new government to work with! She and Edna were also a major help in most of the rebuilding; seriously, guys, you should see these two work, it's kind of mind-blowing. Oh! And Graham taught them all how to hunt, it was so so cute, he and Brother were helping them build traps and make weapons... And oh gosh, if you ask me, Kojiro and Haise are way better as cooks, but they also took the time to teach the Nalawi self-defense and agriculture. I don't know how they did it... I don't know how anyone did it! They're all so great and smart and strong and...
[ ah. is she getting a little misty-eyed from how unbelievably awesome everyone is? IT'S JUST SO NICE TO HAVE GOOD THINGS TO REPORT ABOUT OKAY... after all the sadness that had been their mission... ]
A-Anyway. It's — been a while, hasn't it? I think? [ she glances around where she is (the area where the main celebration had been happening) and frowns a little. ] But not as long as it was for us. Time's kind of funny like that, I guess.
[ ...ah. speaking of good news: ]
Oh. Just in case any of you were worried — I asked Dagny about it a while ago. She told me that when ALASTAIR recruits are returned to their worlds, we'll be brought back to the exact moment we'd fallen into the rift. So it'll be like we never left. So, um. That's a little comforting, I think? We don't have to worry about anyone worrying about us.
[ it's good news... but it's also a bit bittersweet. since maybe of them are still here, stuck. but though her voice has grown a bit more somber, she still puts on a smile. good things now. now's the time to focus on good things! ]
Anyway... I'll be around, if anyone has any more questions about the Nalawi, or anything like that! You can ask any of the others who stayed behind, too, they'll probably be able to give you better information actually, heh...
( ooc; feel free to respond here, or approach her here. threadjack, stalk, go crazy! also I APOLOGIZE if i missed anybody/any details... ;A; pls inform me or blame it on olivia's flightiness... )

Welcome back. I'm sure you must've been busy too, Olivia-ya.
[Since she neglected to mention what she did, of course. But given what Law knows of Olivia she was surely trying to do anything she could wherever she could.]
voice
but this time she responds with audio as well... hm. ]
O-Oh, well... [ he's right, of course. in all her gushing, she never did get around to talking about what she did, but that's mostly because she doesn't think any of what she managed to do holds a candle to what everyone else has done. ]
I did a few things! Mostly just regular house stuff... Nothing too big, heh!
[ BUT NEVERMIND HER— ]
Oh gosh, Mr. Law, how have you been! It's been so long!!

It's very weird! But everything about ALASTAIR is kind of weird to me...
I mean I'm still getting used to it all, and I've been a part of it for months!

[ That said, his expression is not happy. He's deeply troubled, in fact, suddenly gripping the glass of scotch he's got in one hand so tightly that it starts to fracture. ]
But I am not comforted by your information about returning home.
no subject
N-No...? [ she'd been hoping... she was so sure people would be comforted.
she recoils a little bit, shrinking. ]
I mean — Ms. Dagny said that that's what they try to do, at all times! I guess so it doesn't mess with other timelines too much... B-But I'm sure if you wanted to go somewhere else, it can be arranged... They seem to be able to do anything! I'm sorry...

[ She seems more enthusiastic than anyone should... ]
It's good to know for sure. I had suspected, since I thought I might already know if I were going to do any unintentional time traveling.

she never really stopped to think that people actually preferred this. ]
Yeah... I thought it made sense, and I was so certain it would be good news...
[ she sighs. ]
I guess it was silly to think it would all be so simple.

Olivia, aren't you forgetting to mention your own contributions?
[Because she was there too, helping out. Though he won't neglect the rest of her report]
If I recall, Sorey felt he was able to confirm that assertion - that you're returned to the same moment.
video
Don't be silly, Haise — I barely did anything. I'm just glad I was able to pass the message along... [ because you all deserve this praise and recognition. all of you!! ]
But that's great! I didn't think Dagny would lie, but it's always nice to have proof...

But she jumped into information soon enough that the feeling faded. Squinted eyes watched as she went on. Nalawi must have been some sort of alien race - he didn't care much. What caught his attention was the information about going home.
Something he was still very keen on doing. With his regard for any semblance of polite conduct drained to the dregs, Hijikata rushed a reply.]
And has anyone ever actually gone home? [Since he couldn't find any information on that, he'd start here.]

I was able to just say goodbye to one just recently, actually...

Voice, UN: L . L
[Granted, they'd been three months of hard work, but Laedo's voice is more shocked than annoyed at the moment. He's had a hard time throwing shade on Olivia when she's so unendingly earnest. It reminds him of the trio of Edilion girls he'd been responsible for back home... and the thought of being returned to the moment when he'd finally and undeniably managed to fail them has left a rent in his heart.
He tries to play it off.]
Yes, you said nothing of your own contributions, aside from not letting the daemon out of the bag.
voice
S-Sorry... I meant to bring it up before but — so many things kept happening and it.. it never really seemed like the right time.

[He sighs a little, but does actually look relieved.]
And it does help, knowing we'll go back right where we left off. I have stuff waiting on me back home, so knowing nothing bad can happen while I'm here... that's good.

[ BUT OH GOOD, SHE'S GLAD THAT WAS GOOD NEWS TO SOMEONE... she actually sighs loudly in relief. ]
Oh gosh, I'm glad it's comforted someone!

Did they manage to make a justice system too? A police force of some sort? I would've liked t'help out with that, if I'd had more time.
