[The first image you'll get to see on this particular video feed is pretty much a scenic view of someone's nostrils. The individual responsible for such a sight is trying his damndest to figure out how the hell this thing works, how you can send messages or even videos on something that's very pointedly NOT shaped like a snail, and how you even know if it was working or not.

Eventually it seems like he's stopped caring, or decided that on sheer force of will alone that it's working. Because the feed pulls back and you can see this very 'good dog' expression on a very simple-looking man. A scar under his eye, and a rather ratty old straw hat perched atop his head.]

The food's really good here! And I wasn't even yelled at when I ate a lot, either, and I like that. [The feast at the festival hadn't been the most fun, but who needed fun when there was food involved.]

An' yanno what? I don't like being away from my crew an' home, but if there's an adventure--Nihihi, then I guess I don't mind stayin'! around! [And then that 'good dog' expression melts, as if exposed to heat very suddenly. A frown on his face.]

But I don't like this uniform! The arms are too long! I don't have any mobility at all, so I ended up tearin' the sleeves outta them, see? [Look at the mess he's made.] Ne... I guess if anyone's got a needle an' thread, I can try to fix them myself...

[Oh my god, why are you THIS excited, you would've just seen him. For his part, a tiny part of Law missed Luffy. Or rather, he's thought of him recently. That's all he'd admit to.]

Aah. I've been here for two months.

[Two months... funny, the first thing he wonders about that comment is if Law had been lonely here, all on his own. But it doesn't really matter now--He was here now, as were a few of his crewmates, so--!]

[Law has to look away for a minute to get a handle on the weird feelings bubbling up in his chest at that laugh. He honestly missed Luffy, he didn't realize it until this very second and he's stolidly refusing to accept such attachment to the troublesome pirate.

A few moments later, he looks back.]
The same as me, then. That's good.

[Another pause, where he mulls something over in his head. It's not something he would have said back home, but after having ample time alone with his thoughts over the last two months, he decides to make a concession.]
I don't think I got the chance to say this before, so... thank you. For all of that.

[For him, it had barely been a day since he'd last seen his friend, but all the same any sort of meeting with the Heart Pirate was a good one in his books. So not only does he nod his head in reply to the 'that's good' comment, but...

The look on his face when Trafalgar Law of all people thanks him...

If his smile could get any wider, it'd be unnatural.]

Hwoooh, Torao!! [His voice bounces at the end of the shitty nickname, his shoulders hunching up.] What're friends for, right?! You know I'd help you out a hundred times over, come on!

We're not friends, I've told you this several times already. It's an alliance, that makes us allies, it's not the same thing.

You could've- should've- run when I told you to. When I gave you a chance to get out while you still could.
[Law this is a terrible show of gratitude.]

And then you're going to get side-tracked doing things that aren't at all necessary to what we're supposed to be doing because some girl bought you lunch or just because you "wanna." Which is causing trouble for the rest of us.

[That first part is just encouraging, Law. You should honestly now better than that, but here we are. But here we are.

He absolutely grins at Law's announced faith in him, his head tipping up with that glee and self-assuredness that he just plain radiates, hands on his hips.]

Buying someone lunch is important, you know. A man's gotta' eat. [HE WAVES LAW OFF, WHAT DO YOU EVEN KNOW.]

You guys just don't know how to chase after adventure properly.

[He should, but Law has a long history of making poor decisions despite being ostensibly intelligent, it's a running theme.]

"Chasing adventure" isn't what we're here to do, whether or not we know how to do it "properly" isn't the point.

[nishishi]

Chasing adventure is always the point. [Luffy those two statements weren't even Related. But as usual, he's not really listening to what's being said to him. So instead:]

All that matters is we're all here to help each other.

... [He opens his mouth to say "Yes, I know" but decides better of it. Can't have Luffy thinking that Law returns his feelings of friendship or anything, god fucking forbid.]

Just try not to get yourself killed. We're not in Big Blue anymore. The last place that we were, Fire Fist-ya and I could barely use our abilities.

...Could barely use them? [THAT actually gets his attention, because honestly, without his Gomu Gomu no Mi powers, he's at a serious disadvantage. Every one of his fighting techniques included his stretching powers in SOME way, so...]

D'ya think it'll be like that next time??

... I don't know. From what Olivia-ya said, I don't think Chantes was like that. But it could go either way.

It doesn't matter if it is or not. Even if we're at a disadvantage, we'll all stick together and figure it out.
