[The first image you'll get to see on this particular video feed is pretty much a scenic view of someone's nostrils. The individual responsible for such a sight is trying his damndest to figure out how the hell this thing works, how you can send messages or even videos on something that's very pointedly NOT shaped like a snail, and how you even know if it was working or not.

Eventually it seems like he's stopped caring, or decided that on sheer force of will alone that it's working. Because the feed pulls back and you can see this very 'good dog' expression on a very simple-looking man. A scar under his eye, and a rather ratty old straw hat perched atop his head.]

The food's really good here! And I wasn't even yelled at when I ate a lot, either, and I like that. [The feast at the festival hadn't been the most fun, but who needed fun when there was food involved.]

An' yanno what? I don't like being away from my crew an' home, but if there's an adventure--Nihihi, then I guess I don't mind stayin'! around! [And then that 'good dog' expression melts, as if exposed to heat very suddenly. A frown on his face.]

But I don't like this uniform! The arms are too long! I don't have any mobility at all, so I ended up tearin' the sleeves outta them, see? [Look at the mess he's made.] Ne... I guess if anyone's got a needle an' thread, I can try to fix them myself...

...Luffy? As in — Pirate Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates Luffy??

Whoa, hey! Yeah, that's me!!

[His expression brightens up THAT MUCH MORE, and he nods his head--!]

Do you know me from somewhere? I AM pretty famous, after all! [PROUDLY.]

[winces]

[ oh, she has no doubt about that. pirate kings are infamous, after all! even if he does look a bit young, she's sure he has loads of stories about him already! ]

Oh — I'm a student of Mr. Law! And I met Ms. Nami and Mr. Sanji the other day, as well. They all speak very highly of you!

[nishishi]

[If you asked, he'd tell you all sorts of stories. And probably chatter your poor pink ears off, please refrain Olivia.]

Sanji and Nami!! They're my precious nakama, so--Huh? Student-- you're Torao's student? Really?
Torao's actually teaching someone??

[ NO SHE LOVES STORIES, she gets really into them when she tells her own, too... do you like bedtime stories, luffy, she will do voices for you.

fortunately, thanks to the ~magic~ of alastair-tech, olivia is able to understand what he means by nakama. and thanks to nami, she knows now who "torao" is! ]

Um. Yes? [ unless it's been his evil twin all along...! ] He's been very gentle and patient with me — I really do owe him a lot.

[nishishi]

[If you tell him bedtime stories with voices and acted out parts, you're going to make a friend for life right here and right now. You have been warned.]

But that aside--Law, patient and gentle... nope, that doesn't sound really right, but...

He squints at her. He supposes she does look pretty delicate, even for a girl. So maybe Law felt the need to be nice to her? Or maybe she saved his life, or maybe someone threatened him.... his expression goes from confused to a bright and cheery grin. A loud laugh escaping between his teeth in an odd sound--Nishishi.]

Torao's good like that! He's a really good friend of mine, too! He saved my life once so. If you're learning from him, then you're learning from one of the best.

[winces]

[ um it's happening okay she is a PERFORMER this is her jam and i need it in my life

anyway she clasps her hands together over her chest, bolstered by this captain's blessing. ]

Yes, I think so too! He's tough, but he really knows what he's doing. I'm excited to learn a lot from him... [ she hesitates a moment, unsure if she should say...

BUT OH WELL, LET'S MAKE LAW EVEN MORE EMBARRASSED ]

And I could tell he really respected you too, Mr. Luffy!

[nishishi]

[Plans have just been made in the future, you have to tell him a story one day Olivia. Done.]

He's really tough! He's got a bounty just as big as mine, after all. [So that's impressive, keeping up with the future king and all, etc]

Haa?? Really? [He's leaning in to the camera, his eyes wide, interested. Normally Law was complaining or yelling or saying all sorts of unimportant, grumpy things when it came to the straw-hat wearing pirate. And yet Olivia is saying THIS?] How couldja tell??

[winces]

[ luckily, olivia is not past the point of being worried about those bounties... since it seems like everyone coming from their world doesn't intend to do anything about them. so phew!

but at his intrigue, she merely giggles softly, covering her mouth with a hand.

after a moment, she clears her throat and, in her best law impression (which is pretty damn good okay here's your sneak-peek at her acting skills, luffy) quotes verbatim: ]

Straw Hat-ya's unlike anyone I've ever met. He's loud, stubborn, and unreasonable. But he's loyal to those he calls his friends and sees everything through to the end.

[ she smiles softly, going back to her own gentle tones. ]

While it's true Mr. Law says a lot of unkind things... he also doesn't really bother to say much at all, because he doesn't think it's necessary or worth it. So I think the fact he says something in the first place, says a lot about what he truly thinks, you know?

[He's certainly someone who doesn't hide his emotions, showing them plain on his face as he feels them--so when she starts to talk, making an impression of Trafalgar Law with both her voice and inflection, a look of surprise and interest blooms over Luffy's face.]

[It's likely half to do with her amazing acting, and half to do with what the words themselves are saying that make a wide, infectious grin spread over the pirate's face as if he were a candle's wick just lit for the first time. His shoulders hunching as the look of glee is followed up with a loud, amused laugh.]

Hwoaaah, that was a good impression of him, whoa! [He claps his hands together, do that again, seriously.]

Nihhihi, I think you're right. Torao doesn't always say what Torao feels. But ya can feel it when he wants t'say something.

I think he's just shy.

[winces]

[ as someone who also cannot help but be expressive, olivia rather appreciates the fact that he is just as. it's nice.. not have to try so hard to read or understand someone. ]

You know what? I think you're right! Maybe now that more of his friends are here, he'll break out of his shell a little more.

[nishishi]

Haaa, that's right!! He has me, and my other two crewmembers now, too! Oh--oh, and Ace!

[Who are these people.]

But any friend of Torao's is a friend of mine, too! So let's get along from now on, Olivia! [Shishishi.]

[ oh... so quick, so bold... ]

[ somehow, even after only just meeting him, olivia can't help but believe in his words when he says it like that. ]
