[The first image you'll get to see on this particular video feed is pretty much a scenic view of someone's nostrils. The individual responsible for such a sight is trying his damndest to figure out how the hell this thing works, how you can send messages or even videos on something that's very pointedly NOT shaped like a snail, and how you even know if it was working or not.

Eventually it seems like he's stopped caring, or decided that on sheer force of will alone that it's working. Because the feed pulls back and you can see this very 'good dog' expression on a very simple-looking man. A scar under his eye, and a rather ratty old straw hat perched atop his head.]

The food's really good here! And I wasn't even yelled at when I ate a lot, either, and I like that. [The feast at the festival hadn't been the most fun, but who needed fun when there was food involved.]

An' yanno what? I don't like being away from my crew an' home, but if there's an adventure--Nihihi, then I guess I don't mind stayin'! around! [And then that 'good dog' expression melts, as if exposed to heat very suddenly. A frown on his face.]

But I don't like this uniform! The arms are too long! I don't have any mobility at all, so I ended up tearin' the sleeves outta them, see? [Look at the mess he's made.] Ne... I guess if anyone's got a needle an' thread, I can try to fix them myself...

Yeah, you're right. There's absolutely no freer feeling than being on the sea. If there was an ocean here, I'd say you should come out with us and see for yourself. [He's still grinning like an excited kid.] 'specially if you've never got to go when you were back home.

I think I've had enough time at the ocean for now. Besides, I can't....actually swim either.

[Sorey, barely getting your feet wet or having someone haul your ass out of the waves in the middle of a storm doesn't....really count. Not really. But sure.]

Maybe? But it's kind of different back home. The Shepherd is someone who can help the humans and seraphim communicate together, since most humans can't see or hear the seraphim. It's the Shepherd's job to help them, to help purify the land and defeat the Lord of Calamity.

...Whoa. [He tips his head back, his eyes going a little wide at the mention... before his face breaks out into a smile.]

Who needs the ability to swim when you're doing cool things like that? You sound like a superhero. [Defeat the Lord of Calamity... man, he wanted to fight someone like that what the hell.]

A...superhero? I don't know that there's really anything 'super' about me. I just happen to have a really high resonance to see and hear seraphim from growing up with them at Elysia, is all.

[The most modest and humble Shepherd. And then there's the 'invisible people'. But at least Luffy seems to be taking it in stride and not thinking this sounds insane?]

Mikleo and Edna are here and they're usually not able to be seen or heard from most humans. But here with ALASTAIR they are. Which I guess helps make things easier.

It'd be awful hard to make friends with your invisible guys if we couldn't see them. So it does help.

It does! A lot. It's great to see that Mikleo can make more friends here so much easier when people can see and hear him!

[Sounds familiar, honestly. The same thing happened with him and Usopp, after all. Except Luffy's still ignorant that the 'Sogeking' that had been tagging along with them had been Usopp in disguise.

Instead, he just grins.]

[Sorey don't just volunteer his services like that. Though lbr if Sorey says he wants some, Mikleo will probably roll with it if only for his sake so his human doesn't starve.]

Ice Cream?! [Please don't offer Mikleo's services, or even tell Luffy that he can make ice cream just about whenever he wanted.

Luffy will abuse this.]

MAN, I haven't had ice cream in ages!

Mikleo's is the best! He makes it for me all the time. Cause....well, sometimes I lose track of the time when I'm reading or exploring some new ruins we found or something, you know? So he makes me some so I don't get hungry.

[At least he isn't yet mentioning how Mikleo seems to do this via seraph magic or something. Luffy can figure that himself.]

Yeah! I'm not sure how - I guess it has to do with him being a water seraph and all, and you know - ice cream being frozen or whatever. He'd be able to explain how it works.

[But yes. Yes, Sorey does have a bff that can make him ice cream anytime anywhere. It's great, Luffy.]

[They're kind of attached to the hip, pretty much. Especially with Mikleo's recent fretting over Sorey with everything with the Nalawi.]
