VIDEO. UN: LOKI

[ the sound of the wind storm hollows dully against the cave walls. Loki's squidge, Bacon, can half be seen crawling in the confines of his tacky green jacket and over his knee from where he sits, sometimes ducking and squeaking when a particularly large gust hits. to keep it from screaming, Loki offers his fingers absently, which the little squidge pulls on with its pudgy arms before ducking low again. ]

Hello there, it seems like we'll be waiting this out for some time considering the weather-type circumstances. While we're all rotting away, etcetera etcetera, I thought we could amuse ourselves with a game. A little bit of team bonding funtimes, so to say. [ he twists a dark nailed hand in the air, gesturing. ]

Soo—oo ... it's called Two Truths and a Lie. How do you play? Glad you asked, it's simple! Give two true statements about yourself and add a lie to the mix, shake it up then toss it out there and see if your team members know you well enough to spot the lie.

Usually this is done with copious amounts of alcohol, but we're lacking at the moment. [ pause. ] But—ah—you could always enjoy the satisfaction of being right. It's not like we're doing much else.

NOTE | Feel free to threadjack if that's your thing!! :****

I'm going to guess the third one. At least one of the first two has to be true. The first requires the second, and if you were capable of the second, why not do the first?

[ Honestly she has no idea, but she's trying to make an educated guess! ]

[ ... Well, she got it in one, but the small part of him that manages to be mischievous from time to time doesn't want to give her that immediate satisfaction when her explanation is all wrong. So: ]

Bzzt! Sorry, but these are all totally unrelated events.

Well then! I'd like to know how you met a dinosaur without time travel.

[ Are you trying to troll a troll? That's okay though, she'll play along... ]

There were some in a cave that managed to stay preserved for millions of years. Trust me, I was shocked, too.

Preserved?

[ Wow. Congratulations, you've actually stumped her. ]

...you're from Earth, right?

[ Excellent. ]

Yep. The one and only.

[ Wait for it... waaaait for it... ]

How exactly were they preserved? Were they still completely flesh and blood, or was there any kind of reanimation required? Did they come out of preservation, and if so, how...? And what did you do with them? I can only begin to imagine what a millennia-old creature would do to the local ecosystem, no matter how big or small!

—Whoa, whoa, slow down there! One at a time, alright? But here's the deal: long story short we went down into a cave where the dinosaurs were trapped in tree sap the whole time! Thanks to the summer heat, though, it all started to melt, so the dinosaurs got loose! It was kind of like they just came straight out of the Jurassic period.

[ Wow. Two for two, Dipper. Slow down there, slugger. ]

You are not trolling me right now, are you?

Do I look like the kind of guy who'd take up psuedo-internet trolling as a hobby?

Looks can be deceiving! Some of the best trolls I've ever met were the most adorable!

Well, I'm not a troll, nor am I adorable.

At least one of those is up for debate! But no starting another round before you tell me if my first guess was correct!

Is another round regarding that going to happen if I tell you?

Let's go with that, then! So was my first guess correct or not?
