Loki's squidge, Bacon, can half be seen crawling in the confines of his tacky green jacket and over his knee from where he sits, sometimes ducking and squeaking when a particularly large gust hits. to keep it from screaming, Loki offers his fingers absently, which the little squidge pulls on with its pudgy arms before ducking low again. ]

Hello there, it seems like we'll be waiting this out for some time considering the weather-type circumstances. While we're all rotting away, etcetera etcetera, I thought we could amuse ourselves with a game. A little bit of team bonding funtimes, so to say. [ he twists a dark nailed hand in the air, gesturing. ]

Soo—oo ... it's called Two Truths and a Lie. How do you play? Glad you asked, it's simple! Give two true statements about yourself and add a lie to the mix, shake it up then toss it out there and see if your team members know you well enough to spot the lie.

Usually this is done with copious amounts of alcohol, but we're lacking at the moment. [ pause. ] But—ah—you could always enjoy the satisfaction of being right. It's not like we're doing much else.

I got to see a lake, once. [ She sounds like she is So!!!! Lucky!! for that. ] But there was very little water on the planet I grew up on. It wasn't until I left it that I saw any naturally occurring.

[flashbanging]

[ God, somehow that's even worse. A lake ain't nothin'. ]

What kind of planet was that, exactly?

[ He shakes his head. ]

We got to get you some sea. It's an incredible thing.

A desert. [ She shrugs. ] There wasn't much else to it. We never even got rain; the worst weather we saw were dust storms, like this one.

I tell you, I feel more at home in a desert than 'round most parts, but I like me a beach, too. A life without both kinds of sand just ain't right.

[ It wasn't much of a life at all, to be honest, but she doesn't share that. Keeps it to herself, but gets briefly quiet. ]

Maybe ALASTAIR will send us somewhere that I get to see one. That'd be nice for both of us.

[ McCree's a sharp lookout, and he doesn't miss the quick shift in her mood. His smoky voice, already an easy drawl, becomes softer; more gentle. ]

I sure do hope so, darlin'. You deserve to stand before all that expanse--and then to wade right on in it.

It'd probably be better if I didn't go quite that far. I've never swam before. [ the closest she'd come was ... tripping into the hot springs, which were thankfully shallow enough to stand in. ]

Tell you what. We get to an ocean, I'll teach you some swimmin'. It's real easy, especially if you got someone to hold you steady.

[ Grin. ]

[ well that's certainly not what she expected to happen when she revealed that particular struggle. her eyes widen slightly, but she restrains herself to a simple, startled: ] ... Thank you. In that case, I really do hope we find one.

If it don't come up in good time, we can practice with that big lake I saw back at the base. Swimmin' is a necessary survival skill. Never know when you're gonna need it.

[ That's actually a very good point. There are all kinds of missions that could require swimming. Rey nods quickly. ]

That's a good idea. I hadn't thought about it that way. [ but practicality is the way to win her over 100% of the time. ] Hopefully we won't need to do any swimming before this mission's over.
