Hello there, it seems like we'll be waiting this out for some time considering the weather-type circumstances. While we're all rotting away, etcetera etcetera, I thought we could amuse ourselves with a game. A little bit of team bonding funtimes, so to say. [ he twists a dark nailed hand in the air, gesturing. ]

Soo—oo ... it's called Two Truths and a Lie. How do you play? Glad you asked, it's simple! Give two true statements about yourself and add a lie to the mix, shake it up then toss it out there and see if your team members know you well enough to spot the lie.

Usually this is done with copious amounts of alcohol, but we're lacking at the moment. [ pause. ] But—ah—you could always enjoy the satisfaction of being right. It's not like we're doing much else.

No, there is! Like its name implies, it always hides behind you, never to be seen. So... nobody knows much about it, other than it's supposed to prey on people wandering around forests.

But if someone couldn't see it, and it's always hiding behind its victims before it kills them, then how could anyone think that's a legend at all?

No one believes this stuff, right?

I don't know, maybe we should go ask Bigfoot? But if he doesn't know, we could always see what the Loch Ness monster has to say.

But, hey—there's all sorts of weird stuff roaming out there that most people think are make believe. It's totally possible it's somewhere.

Yeah. People from my world never really knew much about aliens. [Probably? Who knows? Voltron? It seems that way.] But before I got here, I was dealing with a whole bunch of them suddenly. Apparently, there are lots of aliens all over the universe.

Which I guess isn't surprising, really, but ...

When you're talking about weird looking creatures, aliens probably fit the bill.

—Whoa. Yeah, they totally do. So you see aliens all the time? Are they friendly or the evil world destroying type?

One kind in particular is very unfriendly. They're the Galra. Think ... think "taking over the universe and subjugating a whole lotta people" unfriendly, and you've got them.

They kinda look like cats.

Yikes. That means you fight them, right?

Usually.

... Yeeeah, tripping through a tear in the universe tends to put a halt to most plans. But sometimes we do things similar to fighting aliens?

I'm gonna guess that you don't mean the toxic plant guy we ran into in the swamp.

So, what have you done before?

Me? Between here and back home, you could say there's been a lot of things. I'm something of a pro when it comes to the paranormal.

The paranormal ... so, ghosts?

Especially ghosts!

Do you know how ghosts ... happen? Aside from dying, of course. I didn't know they could even be real.

[twinpeak]

One-hundred percent real, pal. That part's pretty typical stuff—they're spirits stuck on Earth because of unfinished business, yadda yadda. You've heard that much before, right?

[secondnature]

Well, yeah, but there's gotta be something that makes it happen, right? [Then again, he got drawn out into a desert for some reason and ended up following his gut for ... some reason ... and now he flies in a sci-fi/supernatural ship.

So, maybe he can't be too picky about what he accepts as fact just based on fact.]

Beats me. Pretty sure souls fall under one of those great mysteries of the universe you can't really explain with science, y'know? A lot of the more... [ He circles a free hand. ] Magic stuff is like that.

Ah, yeah ... I guess I just figured there'd be something that would make it tick. Then again, like I said—aliens. We've also run into some weird stuff while dealing with them.

And that probably was along the lines of paranormal sometimes.

I bet! I wish I could see it for myself... [ As, uh, long as they don't try to kill him? ] But you've definitely got me beat there. I've seen the inside of a spaceship, but that's not nearly the same thing.
