VIDEO. UN: LOKI

[ the sound of the wind storm hollows dully against the cave walls. Loki's squidge, Bacon, can half be seen crawling in the confines of his tacky green jacket and over his knee from where he sits, sometimes ducking and squeaking when a particularly large gust hits. to keep it from screaming, Loki offers his fingers absently, which the little squidge pulls on with its pudgy arms before ducking low again. ]

Hello there, it seems like we'll be waiting this out for some time considering the weather-type circumstances. While we're all rotting away, etcetera etcetera, I thought we could amuse ourselves with a game. A little bit of team bonding funtimes, so to say. [ he twists a dark nailed hand in the air, gesturing. ]

Soo—oo ... it's called Two Truths and a Lie. How do you play? Glad you asked, it's simple! Give two true statements about yourself and add a lie to the mix, shake it up then toss it out there and see if your team members know you well enough to spot the lie.

Usually this is done with copious amounts of alcohol, but we're lacking at the moment. [ pause. ] But—ah—you could always enjoy the satisfaction of being right. It's not like we're doing much else.

NOTE | Feel free to threadjack if that's your thing!! :****
longtempered: maybe he just changes cases a lot (is his phone red yellow or orange)

[Well, look at that...he's visibly a little pleased at this news.]

Huh! Guess I'm getting a little better at this game...

You were actually hunting it, though? [Whatever....'it' actually is, for that matter. A 'Hide Behind'?? That's nothing he's heard of before, he's pretty sure.] It kind of sounded more like something to avoid, the way you said it earlier. Why were you looking for it?

Because no one's been able to prove its existence! Yet. Do you know how cool it'd be if I was the first guy ever to catch even a glimpse of one of the world's most elusive creatures?
longtempered: (unruffled)

[personal profile] longtempered 2016-08-10 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty cool, I'm guessing. Especially if a lot of people have already tried before and all that, right?

If nobody's ever seen it before how do you know it exists, though? [Admittedly this is probably one of the most basic questions in the book, but well. It warrants asking??]

[personal profile] twinpeak 2016-08-11 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
I... don't. [ Admittedly. ] Aaaand who knows, it could be nothing more than legend! But there was still the possibility of it being real.
longtempered: (impassive)

[personal profile] longtempered 2016-08-14 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
Huh, that's one way to look at it...never know until you can prove it for yourself. Especially with legend stuff, I'd think...

So you do a lot of this kind of thing? Proving legends exist?

[personal profile] twinpeak 2016-08-18 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes! A lot of weird stuff back home has already been discovered, though. It's not widely known, so sometimes it's hard to get people to believe me... But it's still pretty cool seeing it!
longtempered: (piqued triangles)

[personal profile] longtempered 2016-08-21 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there's probably lamer ways to pass the time for sure. You sound like you've run into a lot of other weird stuff, anyway, even if you haven't seen everything yet... [A beat, before a thought visibly occurs to him quite suddenly. Legends......ah--Shizuo perks up.] Hey, actually I've got a question. Do you have any experience with headless people?
twinpeak: (pic#10532561)

[personal profile] twinpeak 2016-08-21 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
Uh—I decapitated a wax statue of Larry King that came to life one night, does that count?
longtempered: (harmonious)

dipper...what is your life.......

[personal profile] longtempered 2016-08-21 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
What? [????? ok, admittedly he's not sure what he was even expecting to hear, but it definitely wasn't...that......Shizuo is clearly a bit thrown off at this, but at least he recovers pretty quickly.] Uh, I don't know? I'm pretty sure the person I'm thinking of isn't a wax statue, anyway...she says she's a Dullahan. Ah...it's some type of fairy in Ireland or something, I think?

It seemed like a legend sort of thing, so I was just wondering if you'd ever heard of them on your end...
twinpeak: (pic#9598273)

it's..... waves hands around

[personal profile] twinpeak 2016-08-21 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Dullahan... Oh, yeah, like the headless horseman, right? I've never seen one before, but I definitely know about them! You really know one?
longtempered: (generic over-shoulder)

seems accurate tbh

[personal profile] longtempered 2016-08-21 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, like that! [Oh hey, this is neat though...that's a little recognition here after all. Shizuo is clearly a little pleased about this, now that the initial confusion's out of the way.] And I do, yeah...her name's Celty, she's a friend of mine. She came all the way to Japan a little while ago, and she lives in the same city I do right now. Met her through an acquaintance...

Ah, I kind of wish she were here now, actually? She'd be really happy to hear there's somebody who actually knows about...her type. Her kind? And all that.

[personal profile] twinpeak 2016-08-21 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Dude. That's awesome. I would totally meet her if I could! What's she like?
longtempered: (quiescent)

[personal profile] longtempered 2016-08-21 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
She's definitely pretty awesome, for starters. [Oh no don't make him gush about his bff Dipper......except it's too late now whoops--] But ah, I mean...she's a really nice person! Real good listener. Managed to blend in really well with the city now too, if you'd believe it...her horse can change shapes and stuff, so it's a motorcycle now most of the time? And she wears a biker helmet so she doesn't freak people out being headless all the time. I think she's still working as a transporter right now, she's always on the go.
twinpeak: (pic#10532393)

[personal profile] twinpeak 2016-08-24 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
Whoa.

[ No, please, gush about the dullahan! Dipper is definitely interested. ]

I'm so used to seeing the supernatural hiding that I didn't think they'd try to blend into society, too... So she lives like a normal person? And here I thought something like that would try to be way more creepy.
longtempered: (surprisingly frequent phone-user)

[personal profile] longtempered 2016-08-28 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
[IF YOU INSIST...]

I mean, I guess without her helmet she can be a bit creepy if you're not used to seeing her...but she's really not a creepy sort of person at all. It's pretty weird though, right? I hadn't really thought about supernatural things even being around until I ran into her...but yeah, it seems to me like she'd rather be as normal as possible while she's still hanging around town.

[Shizuo frowns a little now.]

She told she didn't always live like this, though. Mostly she's been in Ikebukuro because she's been looking for her head.
