Hello. :-)

Everyone patched up and out of the slammer? Good.

It's been quite a ride, hasn't it? First dragons that were intended to end a world, now political conflicts between parties and the compelling mystery as to WHY??? the whole MISSING SUN thing, and WHO STARTED IT?? thing, etc etc. Oh- and there's also that nagging little question of what's going to happen if we do succeed in the way that we're meant to. (Insert question marks here) But forgot that for now, we can do the whole "share your multiversal anecdotes" later.

[ goblins, humans, goblin-human conflict and everything else in between. there's still fuel on the fire and a conflict and a sun missing. he's wondered if their presence here was enough to sway the tides of fate in ALASTAIR's favor, and that's left him with nothing but a sour taste in his mouth. ]

Alas, here's the thing! Despite the mission, we're still all on our own. :'( But all's not lost! I'm here to offer a little tidbit that I found rifling through some paperwork that someone oh-so-fortunately left out in the open. I just happened to be glancing over. [ "happened to." ]

There have been some very curious disappearances. 4, in particular.

With all the talk of sacrifice I thought it may be preferable to find these people and, well, possibly who took them and where they've gone. You know, saving them from the whole maybe-but-we-don't-know sacrificial death thing. It sounds very unpleasant, and with a possible worrisome outcome.

[ he's never really been much of a team player, but getting the brunt of the blame if someone's sacrificed generally wasn't in his best interest. ]

Now, where to do with these names? Ideas? Comments? Concerns? I'll leave the floor open.

You weren't doing anything bad at all in there, right? So it doesn't matter much.

Do you have any ideas of where I should begin? I planned on asking around, but that only does so much.

But it's possible that someone else HAS. May as well collaborate.

I agree. I'm glad that you're willing to put this out here for everyone.

[Harry had been planning on it, but he's mostly been informing the different agents independently.]

I think we can follow through on our assumptions we made in the station, that this is tied to the sacrifices somehow. But maybe one of us can return, or maybe we can report a false disappearance and see precisely what comes of it.

[ despite what Harry's seen of his whole "not caring" thing, Loki's invested himself a bit in this one. he's feeling particularly defiant. ]

False disappearances may be a THING.
Thor & I may have a time checking super special sacrificial places. It may buy us a little more time.
He can be awfully threatening when he wants to be.

That sounds like a good idea. If there are sacrifices supposedly happening, there should be something left behind. Even some kind of residue, magical or otherwise. I know a spell to find the last spell cast by a wand, but I don't know how it'll work elsewhere. I don't think it translates very well here, but it's a thought.

As for the people, I saw you say that you don't know what they are. I'm fairly certain that they're human, considering where they were reported, and who's said to be doing the sacrifices. The one who's investigating the murder of the queen said that he said it made sense, so that seems like a safe assumption to make right now. We can change our minds later.

Do you think we should find one of the citizens of Odette to volunteer, or should we say someone was taken from among our ranks? Whoever it is, they'll have to hide very well. But if it's someone who's been to jail, at least there will be a record of them.

Assuming that you didn't remove all the record of us when you were there.

I have my own ways of finding residue left by sorcery, no worries there. I'm quite good at it.

That does bring up another question- if there ARE goblins missing, it would be difficult to find out, wouldn't it? Not like we could wiggle our way into finding out now.

They don't trust us, and I don't blame them, but it leaves us in a precarious position. One where even I would find it difficult to persuade one of the locals into aiding us without adding fuel to the fire.
Which I could, mind you, but it's a no-good bad idea. :'(

That's good. I have a friend who'd be much better at managing all of that, but she isn't here. As you can guess, I feel a little like I'm lacking a lot without my friends at my side. I haven't done anything on this scale without them before.

[Harry, of course, doesn't realize that Loki knows exactly who he's referring to. Ah, well.]

The goblins seem to be too private about their dealings. That they tend toward that doesn't help. I don't blame them, either. I did consider finding a way to enter their ranks, but it'll be impossible without some potion making supplies and a great deal more information. I don't have either.

So, faking a disappearance might be the best we can do. If it has to be me, I'm ready. It's very hard to keep me disappeared.

[ oh, he can guess who that is, and he's all a-twitter for a brief moment on the other end of his bracelet when he sees those words. he reads them three times, trying to hold back his fanboyish chuckles to anyone who may hear him. ]

There are those that have aligned with them, aren't there? Perhaps it's all about the push and pull. We can't divvy ourselves up too much. You know, keep our focus on the goal without getting terribly impassioned in the conflict.

Not right now. Not without a certain item. But barring that, I could just use other magic to help, something that doesn't require that Certain Item, if you will.

[Of course, he will have his cloak shortly, but Harry doesn't realize that yet.]
