[ Ah, damn. That's a real shame to hear. McCree hadn't been that close to Luffy, but he counted the fella as a friend. On the one hand, it's a good thing he got outta here--on the other, it's surely distressing. Likely they won't meet again. ]

[ Perdition's Rest isn't exactly a sprawling metropolis. It doesn't McCree long to head for the saloon's smoky ruin and find Hanzo nearby, looking as cheerful as ever. He comes up beside Hanzo and then plops himself down in the dirt, long legs outstretched, casual like he's just settled onto a comfortable chair.

He reaches for Hanzo, his voice quiet. ]

[As with anything else, McCree makes himself comfortable, like this is the life he's always known. The outdoors, and nothing but his wits.

That is probably true.

Hanzo is sitting with his legs neatly tucked under him. His gourd is next to him, but not open. Not touched. Not yet. In his fingers, he fiddles with a piece of paper. A note.]

What is it I am supposed to say? I have said what has needed to be spoken.

[ McCree makes an 'uh-huh' noise in his throat. ]

[A frustrated sigh leaves him. Slowly, he looks less the proud man he usually is, and more tired. Uncertain.]

[ there is a slight waver in Nami's voice, the only indication that she might not be holding up that fine, what with both Luffy and Sanji being gone now — but it never lasts long with her, her genuine brightness pushing through always. ]

... I'm glad to hear that! Even if our Captain is gone... that doesn't mean we're still not nakama, all of us.

[There's a pause, then he gives a confirming hm.]

[ she beams at him. ] Luffy and Sanji-kun were both transferred... I'm sure their skills were needed more in the other team. [ especially as she doubts Sanji-kun would have agreed to leave her behind if it hadn't been for something incredibly important. ]

But there's still the two of us, Jesse and Genji... and of course Torao-kun, Olivia-chan and Ban-kun are all still our allies, too.

I suppose that is so. Every team needs a fool or two. [He's probably mainly referring to Sanji but who knows]

I know that we are not alone. But it is different now.
