VIDEO. UN: LOKI.
Hello there.
[ Loki's standing on the porch of the ashen saloon, black bones against a dusky horizon. ]
Another day saved, another mission over ... [ he says it in an "all in a day's work" sort of tone. a finger twists and he gestures outward. ]
As the story continues! [ the drawl comes from his lips slowly, as if for dramatic effect. ]
We've met our arch-foes, saved a part of the fractured multiverse from apparent destruction and preserved the integrity of the timeline—erm, hopefully on the last two, anyway. In light of current events, and while we all cool down, I thought we'd play with a little fun hypothetical to stimulate conversation. Call it something that's been on my mind. So, riddle me this, Audentes ...
If saving a world meant destroying it—you know, kind of like a hard reset—what would you do? Would you do it, let it die and get coffee instead, or would you fight with tooth and axe for its survival, despite all odds? All methods in between, of course, feel free to be creative.
[ sometimes, some things remind him all too much of Ragnarok. ]

A world is hardly a world without anyone or anything living on it. It's not really a tough decision, that being the case.
no subject
[not something he wouldve thought possible before but hey zymandis came with their spaceships and carried off its people so anything is possible]

I suppose subjectivity comes with a certain level of wiggle room, though that was less of the point, really.
[ there's a thoughtful hum as he fills the silence, lacing his fingers and stretching his arms beneath the wrinkles of a green hoodie. ]
How new are you? Not Nalawi-new, I'd take it?

the reward doesn't feel as good as money, though, all things being equal. he'd never been one to do things for the good of it.]
You wanted philosophical quandary.
[whereas he's never had need for it. he's not great at playing along at this game. but loki changes the subject anyway, which is just as well.]
How much impossible flair did you see in Nalawi?
[he knows loki was around for banditcon. that kind of planning (superfluous or otherwise) was pretty obvious -- if he'd been around before, there would've been some other ridiculous scam.]

the point is the important part; Audentes has never been on the same page about it, and while he doesn't expect them to be now, a little stimulating conversation never hurt. with Zymandis off and running around with their metaphorical daggers out and ready for blood, it seems appropriate. ]
Less impossible flair and too much pragmatic solution. There were two goddesses, we were meant to kill them. Needless to say it sparked some debate among the recruits, but not in time to reach a viable solution; timeline.exe insisted it was it was the only way to fulfill the mission.
Destruction of the world may be a little dramatic, but it left it with considerably less than it started with.

[ debates that took too long, actions that were forced by necessity rather than group consensus. ]
How important do you think it is to get everyone -- or at least a feasible majority -- to agree?
no subject
[ he was a trickster, a liar and a thief. his way of making sure that things to done was a little bit different than those that put stake in more honest means of, well, anything. Nalawi had been trying, hitting far too close to home with the forced death of two deities. ]
You'll have those that run off to their own means, recklessly, perhaps. Those who will most likely never agree with impossible flair, as they'd rather express their own opinions with an axe to the face of the problem.
It's low on my "that will sure happen!" list, besides knowing your teammates may be far more beneficial.
no subject
[there's definitely a note of incredulity to his comment, but it's far from judgmental.]
One would think a "team" that had to face several of these kinds of problems would learn how to address them.
[maybe not in a unified way, because as loki said there would always be those who solved problems on their own. but certainly they'd know how to have the kinds of discussions loki was positing - but it sounds like loki is trying to spark the debate because they don't; otherwise he'd already know whatever he's really getting from this]

As someone who's managed to keep their footing since Anwick, faces come and go more frequently than I change my shampoo.
[ and he likes to change his shampoo. ]
It's one of the wonders and curses of Audentes.
[ briefly, momentarily, he's hit with the memory of Thor before dismissing it completely. ]
no subject
[not that kaz has an answer either, but loki answering his questions with sort of a side step and then an answer is enough for him to want to point it out.]

Solve which problem? The turnover, the communication, or the lack of information?
no subject
[not the good kind.]
no subject
Perhaps it's best to wait until the team works up a rapport, though that hardly helps with the more direct world-blowy-uppy situations we may face.

...
I'll preface this with a reminder that B&E is one of my favorite pastimes. The more difficult it is to get into something, the better. My old man has a penchant for ... creative concealment. I like to break it.
Most of the time it works. Enchantments, locks, curses—whatever, I've done it.
[ a pause. ]
Mm, but this ... no one needed to be there to know, to inflict punishment. I was given a warning.
[ in the color of dyed red hands—at least someone had a sense of humor out there. ]
no subject
What did you try to break into?
[challenge??? accepted???]
no subject
[ there's a dramatic pause. ]
The Mechanical Room.

"The Mechanical Room"?
no subject
...
Yes, that.
no subject
Sounds like it's asking to be broken into.
no subject
It just needs a little gentle coaxing.
no subject
[not on the network. too insecure.]
