[Right now, she's in her bedroom in the space she's staying at with Reika and Julius. There's perhaps a couple of books next to her bed, and some textbooks from school. It's....been a while since she did homework, but Sakura is lying on her bed, lower legs in the air as her feet swing as she talks, one hand cupping her chin and cheek to prop herself up.]

So...I know things are tense right now. I'm not sure if there's a way to figure if someone is sick unless they start showing symptoms of this, but. I am worried. If people on either side of this um, what was it called, quarantine? If they're separated from their family, from their friends, they will get more upset. I'm not sure if there's really anything we can do, anything I can do without making things worse. I know this is for a reason, to stop the others from getting sick, but....

I have my healing from ALASTAIR but I'm not sure if that's going to be enough. Or...I'm not sure how much if any of my magic I should use. At least, not in public. Things seem pretty normal here, almost like back home, except this isn't Tomoeda. It's been a while since I was back at school too. But I think I'm doing alright? So far. I don't want to get in trouble for skipping class but I also feel like I could be helping more by doing something about this virus.

[She pouts, pausing for a moment as she glances back down in front of her.]

Oh! But Graham-san and I have been doing some crosswords together! That's sort of been helping with my English. They're pretty fun, actually! I can read some of the questions out and how long those words are if others want to help?

[As...well as something of a distraction at least. Maybe.]

[ Reika has to put up with schoolwork as her disguise, so she's a little busier than she thought. Still, the sentiment that Sakura is expressing is something she very much feels, and she can hear the girl's words from the living room - so she stands, leaving her notes behind, and opens the door. ]

Sakura-chan? Do you want to do crosswords?

[ She hasn't... really been doing much other than observing, so there's time. Time that could probably be spent more effectively, but she lacks the skill to do that. ]

[If there's one thing that Lilith's actually sympathetic to... it's younger girls who are out of their depth and uncertain like this.]

Hey there, cutie. You use however much magic you need to keep yourself safe, all right? Do you have friends with you?

Sakura-san! You should come over to my and Nyuu-san's place for tea sometime. I'm sure I can figure out something you can help me with.

[he's going to singlehandedly make all these kids feel useful, and it's maybe only a tiny amount related to needing to push everyone in certain directions.]

Mm. I've used some. I guess I am used to trying to keep it secret, back home. So this isn't so different. I've just figured it best to use it as much as I can to help on the other missions before this. But I'm staying with a couple of friends while we're here. Reika-san and Julius-san are pretending to be family with me. And I'm still seeing Graham-san and others too while we're here.

[She just doesn't have as much excuse to catch up with Graham and the others since she isn't 'living' with them or anything. But she isn't alone. She hasn't been since arriving here, even if she is without her friends and family from home.]

Um, are you a new recruit though? I'm not sure I've seen you around before. And I've been here since Chantes.

Ah, Y-yes! I'd love to come over. What did you need help with, Urahara-san?

[She figures he probably has some sort of project or research in mind already if he's mentioning it? Probably.]

[Sakura probably shouldn't be surprised if Reika could hear her. Their place isn't the biggest. But also, it probably really is just easier to chat in person while living together and all, unless they were out at the time.

She looks up when Reika appears in the doorway, hearing her approaching footsteps.]

Graham-san suggested I try some. To help with my English. Have you done one before?

Good. [Being younger and on your own... it's a vulnerable place to be in, and not everybody's as unapologetically tough as nails as Lilith.] It's real crazy out there, that's smart.

Yeah, I am. The name's Lilith-- they shipped me into Oska, got all the boring logistical crap done, and popped me right over here. Is it always that quick?

We tried to figure things and plan before we got here at least. As much as we can with what we know before we head out for the missions, anyway. [They usually get some basics. But more often than not things sort of escalate and don't necessarily go according to plan.]

Ah, Lilith-san then! I'm Sakura. Sakura Kinomoto. But hm. I think it could depend on the timing? If you got here a little earlier you'd have had more time in between the missions to relax and figure things while in Oska at headquarters.

[He looks like he's bored more than anything, but his voice is serious.]

Doing what you can is still good enough. Using your uh magic in public would be a problem alright, but how do you think you'd be able to use it away from the public eye? You'd just get in harm's way that way.

You said it yourself, you're doing alright, so why not keep up the way you've been going?

[He goes quiet for a second.]

How can a crossword help with this language?

I haven't, but I'd like to try.

[ Reika can speak English, but it's heavily accented and Julius needs to correct her a few times. ]

I can teach you some English too, if you'd like.

Sakura. That's a cute name. Thanks for giving me the lowdown on this stuff. [From the mouth of babes, etc etc.]

So this amount of not filling you in on everything completely is... normal. [She's skeptical, but hey: if she gets paid she gets paid.] Who's running this ALASTAIR show again?

I guess. I just feel like I could be doing more. But I'm not sure what else I could do to help with this mission. I'm not a doctor or anything to know about viruses.

[Not beyond the likes of occasionally having got sick herself but that wasn't anything like this. Not with these particular symptoms anyway.]

Ah, well the crosswords give a question or a clue and you need to fill in the answers to make them fit with the rest you've figured out.

[She turns her necklace around to show him what she's done of this one so far.]

Some words I know but others I check in the dictionary to make sure. That's why these crosswords help. because if you don't get the right answer, it won't fit, see?

[There's a square for each letter, a number of them for each word that sometimes crosses to join with another going down or diagonally.]

Well, I can try. I mean, I've been here over a year, so. Any questions, I probably know. But oh, you mean the TIMELINE? Or did you mean Dagny and the others? Because that's sort of...I'm not sure how to explain it, nobody has actually asked me before.

[They sort of get orders from both? Basically.]

Second one. I know we're following this... timeline thing, but the others are just part of this big team, right? Not our bosses?

[She's hesitant to follow anyone's marching orders without some degree of skepticism, especially after everything that'd happened with the Vault, so this is important to know.]

Then stay away from those who are infected, and help the people that do have the means necessary to help. Even just carrying medicine could help someone.

[He stares at it for a little bit, and then nods.]

That looks like a smart way of learning something new, where did you find the puzzle?

I need a third pair of eyes to sort through some of my notes on the infected. It won't be too difficult, I promise. It's just trying to find some common denominators on them. You two might notice something I'm too caught up in the moment to see.

well, it's something and it's not busywork.]

ALASTAIR is....hm. Dagny and the others, I've seen them around the network and all. But I haven't got to know them as well myself as some others might have. I just know we basically do what the TIMELINE says. And even that is sometimes complicated.

[Besides, it isn't surprising that some still try to shield Sakura from the worst of their missions. Even if she might be well aware they sometimes involve death. Needing to kill in order to complete their missions for the sake of keeping everything balanced or whatever the TIMELINE prioritizes.]

But we don't even know if anyone is infected until they show symptoms, right? I guess we should plan, in case one of us get infected.

[Even if she doesn't want to think of something like that happening with Reika or Julius. Or any of her friends here among the recruits.]

There's books with lots of crosswords in the library. I'm sure there would be others there with more, if you wanted to have a look.

Hey, healing people is plenty! That's really cool, and I bet it'll help out a lot pfople. Same with working on your English.... need more practice?

Notes? Ah, I could try, yes! Are they in English? Or would I not need to bring a dictionary?

[If they're in Japanese, she should manage fine, assuming his handwriting is legible at least.]

Oh, that's very smart. It's kind of like sudoku, in a way.

[ She peers ar the paper curiously. ]

We can work on this one together if you'd like?

I'm not sure if healing with this virus will work. I'd be willing to try, but I'm not sure if we'll get the chance. Still, ah, my English isn't the best, I'm still learning it in school back home and all.

[So if Maya has any tips that would be awesome.]

Right! Sort of. I don't mind if you want to help. I might still learn some new words at least.

[So Sakura scooches over on her bed to allow Reika more room, gesturing for the other to join her so she can see the crossword better, shifting her dictionary to sit beside her for now.]

[ Reika takes a seat on the bed next to Sakura so they can both look at the crossword book together. ]

Oh, you're making good progress. Which one do you want to start on first?
