[ McCree's just lounging somewhere outside in catland, maybe in a quiet corner of one of the plazas. Far from the meowing crowd. He's got his cigarillo dangling from the corner of his mouth, and he puffs on it intermittently, looking thoughtful. ]

Gotta say, this is a real nice little respite after all the mess we just got through. These cats have been mighty hospitable, too, and it was good of'em to take us in.

[ A pause. He leans forward, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. ]

But, y'know ... just between you and me, I'm really more of a dog person.

You know, I heard the term "cat person" around, too. Is there some kind of feud going on between people who like cats and dogs?

Not sure I'd called it a feud, exactly, but I've seen the debate get pretty heated from time to time. Now, me, I don't mind cats. I just get on better with a nice labrador.

I mean, a pet's a pet. I don't really want one, myself.

Just seems like a strange thing to argue about. What's next, argyle versus plaid?

Some people must really like cats if they're willing to start something just because you like dogs.

Can't say I ain't seen it get a little heated in bars back home, though. But that was probably more due to the beer than the topic at hand.

Sounds about right. Give a guy enough to drink and he'll fight you over anything.
