[It's a nice hello from your local, not-Zymandis robots! You know, the ones on your side that you shouldn't be slaughtering! Luckily, they look a lot different, right?

Anyway, it's Knock Out and Zenyatta together in a room that looks like it's near the library, and upon the table behind them is one of the Shielders, as well as a T15. Both appear rather... dissected, at this point. Zenyatta addresses the network, while Knock Out, still picking over the insides of the Shielder, ignores it.]

Greetings.

Although I know this may not have been a popular topic... I had been interested in the level of consciousness of our enemies. Thank you, Keith, for assisting in not harming these units fatally. With help from Knock Out, I was able to see if the Zymandis robots were capable of any thoughts of their own, or had any direction besides their orders. They did not. Perhaps that is for the best.

[There’s movement from behind as Knock Out finally gives up on his patient (“patient”) and leans in to loom over Zenyatta and share the feed. He looks pretty pleased with himself as he speaks.]

They did bring us a little gift, though. Both of these machines have connectivity ports in them — don’t worry, I’ve disabled the transmitter, they’re only receiving data at the moment. And it looks like they’re receiving straight from Zymandis… assuming Zymandis is a moving point. A warship, maybe. They’re all the rage for destructive organizations. [He pauses to quirk a brow.] So, if nothing else, we know where not to go galavanting off to.

[Jin sends over his magitek's location-- he's mingling somewhere near the library, out of the way of the other ALASTAIR agents milling about post-battle.]

[ Luckily, he's near the library as well, so it's a quick journey. He meets Jin within a few minutes, nodding his head slightly in greeting as he approaches. One of his orbs is already in his hand, glowing golden, and he is prepared to hand it off. ]

Been a while since I had to hang onto one of these.

[He smiles faintly. Jin, predictably, is bruised to all hell-- some of these barely look like robot-fighting bruises, how, Jin?-- but the moment that the orb passes hand to hand the wounds begin to lighten, shifting back to Jin's normal skin tone.]

You sure you're okay, Zen? I remembered what you told me. About your brother.

[heroforhobby]

That'd be really useful.

[Beat as he scratches some bothersome soot on his nose.]

So... It's okay for me to keep wrecking 'em is what you're saying, right?

I won't argue it's a useful connection, you're right there. I just want to make sure no one gets it into their heads to read too much into it, or depend on it.

[ you don't live to be this old without a healthy sense of caution, after all ]

At least, not while I'm around. If they transfer me elsewhere, feel free to be as reckless as you'd like.

More along the lines of location. I can read where the data sent to them originates. [ He frowns at something off-camera. ] Which has shifted since I first pinpointed it. I can't even begin to guess at the size of the facility broadcasting it, and I can't imagine sending anyone to check on it is a very good idea.

The attack in general? I can't imagine so. These machines are simple, hardly a threat if you know what you're doing. If Zymandis is such a giant, they might send them to take care of a nuisance at best.

If I am honest, I am more under the impression that we are "a fly to swat" than a true threat to them, given the level of forces they have sent against us so far. Their most impressive display was our first real encounter in Perdition's Rest.

Ah, thanks! That makes things less complicated.

It is not a bad thing to not need so frequently.

Surely, Jin is referring to the fight- oh. He means... that. ]

I am certain, had I asked you to only disable rather than destroy, you would have found a way with ease.

Sure, but it's faster to stop 'em if I'm not worried about not killing them.

Then you have nothing to worry about now. I promise.

[Half smile, nods.]

Maybe Lloyd? Someone at HQ? They might be able to, I dunno... do some science with it.

We're definitely in no shape to go barging into any alien rival warships, and anyone who says otherwise must be having a nice time under that rock of theirs.

But it's still something, like you said. Maybe we can pull something else from the signal like... I dunno... frequencies we can maybe tap into in the future?

[iomnic]

[Of course, Saitama has proven that no one can really hurt him, but... you know. It's the thought that counts.]

[iomnic]

A good idea.

[And, since Zenyatta's the one who initially stole Knock Out's Communicator, he turns to glance over at him.]

Knock Out, do you think this is something we could send to Lloyd? Given that he is still safe?

[heroforhobby]

No worries.

[Of course, no worries, these robots were nothing, like anything he's ever faced. But nonetheless he gives a wave goodbye and the feed cuts.]

After the attack we just fended off, pursuing sounds like a stupid idea-- even for me.

[at least you're self-aware, jin.]

Seeing as we're the faction that split off and all, I'd imagine the data point's as big as you'd imagine it to be. Think about the power they have: they're bigger and more well-armed than we are, not to mention packing enough energy to keep a mobile base with all of that. We're lucky to be alive.

Good. We're much safer if we continue to be underestimated, though that might not last long if we keep thwarting them. I really don't want them to start being serious before we really know what we're up against.

Being seen as not worth their time is our biggest asset in this battle. It's going to be much more difficult when they realize we could be a threat.
