Well, then—way back in the day on the cusp of Thor and another self's manhood ... and I mean back in the day, you get the idea. Loki and Thor were close at the time, and were having a sport out of hunting. While they were stalking down the path, they spied on an elvish cavalry. It was full of fine mounts, proud and tall, and Thor wished to have one of his own.

So, Loki, smiling, leaned in, shoulder to shoulder, and told him "the measure of steed is the effort in breaking him. it's nothing to break a pony, but it proves a great horsemaster to break a stallion."

And what would irony have it that on those mountains were the most stubborn of beasts?

Needless to say that it was a long, shameful summer for Thor.
