[ Oyez, oyez, oyez, you’ve got a call on your magical crystal. Pick up the phone and you’ll see Glee, looking serene, confident, and in her element in (1) organizing things and (2) telling people what to do. ]

It has been almost two months since we were conscripted by ALASTAIR, and we have yet to meet, introduce ourselves, and discuss what we’ve learned in person and in an orderly fashion. In light of recent… developments, increased cooperation will become a necessity to pool what we’ve learned and plan a deliberate way forward.

I expect all of you at the red warehouse between the commoner's district and the outskirts, six days from now at sundown. For those of you inclined to provoke tensions with local law enforcement, incarceration is not an excuse for tardiness or absence.

[ She keeps her gaze on him, unblinking. ]

Fortunately, in our case it's mostly a matter of putting down the crystal.

[ Mostly, not completely. But she says it with enough matter-of-fact confidence that the small difference between mostly and completely seems negligible. ]

Not yet. Some response will be required.

[ He'll look back, somewhere between amused and resigned. ]

Even if most of it concerns refreshments.

[ That gets a wry smile out of her. ]

The strangest things carry over across universes.

I'm placing him in charge of it.

[ Since they're in private... ]

Are you curious about him?

[ It takes a moment, as Ahad considers and rejects potential comments. Eventually, he decides on something simple: ]

Yes.

[ She nods, folding her arms. ]

How blunt do you want to be with him?

[ There are so many ways to interpret blunt... ]

There's learning by observing him, and then there's learning by direct questioning.

We would save a good deal of time by simply informing him that he bears an uncanny resemblance to a person we knew, but it would be... [ A slight pause, as she sifts through words. ] Somewhat crude.

[ He'll shake his head, looking somewhat pained. Probably more at how crude that would be than any actual emotion, however. ]

And I doubt it would be appreciated. I see no immediate need to inform him as to the reason for my interest. He can draw his own conclusions.

[ She glances skyward, where the sun should be. ]

Leaving people to draw their own conclusions doesn't always work out.

In our family, and perhaps his as well.

Telling him anything will only make him more curious. [ "You remind me of family" could be interpreted in so many ways, all of which come with their own complications. ]

It may be enough that he sees us as fellow gods trapped under similar circumstances.

[ Her lips thin at trapped, and she makes a tactical decision to back off that topic. She doesn't think of Chantes as one big prison as she does another less-than-perfect town with a less-than-perfect job to be done. But if he thinks of it as a prison -- well. She's all for the family lesson of talking it out can be valuable, but she's not inclined to pick at healing wounds, either. So she skips back to the beginning, to safer subjects. ]

I'm not sure "more curious" is possible with that type.

[ A large cage is still a cage. He is here against his will and it grates. ]

Then what would you suggest?

Mention offhand that he seems familiar, and wait for what he says.

[ He's not hesitant so much as uncertain that this is the right way to go about it. It's not a conversation he wants to have. Ever. ]

I have difficultly seeing how this will not go poorly.

[ She thinks throwing out small bait and seeing what Loki offers would be solid logically, but, as always, there's emotional baggage. ]

It might go less poorly with me.

[ The emotional baggage is that he'd rather not talk about Sieh. The wounds aren't raw, at this stage, but he is strongly against reopening them. ]

Together, perhaps?

[ Glee can step in, if he can't do it. ]
