Well, Audentes, it’s certainly be a trip. [ and he says that with finger quotes. ] Out of the frying pan and into the fire, that should be our motto.

[ for someone stuck in a maze, Loki still manages to find his confidence. ]

As we take a stroll through the maze and await the next hit single of its proprietor, I—or we, rather—would like to share a few words with you. Our Zymandis tag-a-long has spoken with us regarding some of our curiosities.

Unlike ALASTAIR, Zymandis has a fully functional chain of command, all the way from the higher ups to the underlings. Commanders and sub-commanders and the whole bit, going all the way to the tippy top under their leader … you know—Leader. [ he’s just gonna add that right in on there as a good rub. ] They recruit based on volunteers, and have seen their own share of those slipping through the cracks in the multiverse to end up where they are. It seems that this Mavahari is indebted to them through her rescue, and has pledged her life to follow their blah blah blah rebirth narrative blah blah blah.

Not only that, but they believe that the rebirth itself will prevent the next shatter of our dear multiverse. If the entropy is allowed to play out as is, the result will be much of what happens with Surtur gets his hands on something—burnt to a crisp.

Now, we’re not here to start another back-and-forth, however … we still do have the little detail of our Zymandis stowaway. She’s a political assassin, so I’d suggest not doing much to anger her. [ he’s looking at you Thor. ] For now at least.

Why do they always want a do-over?

Something about the total destruction of the multiverse, and the renewal of life, blah blah blah ...

Total destruction is never a good thing, this is insane.

[ life wouldn't have to be renewed if it wasn't destroyed in the first place. how come that never occurs to any of these groups.]

Oh, I don't know about that. You could probably still make something even with only a handful of pieces. Now whether that something is worthwhile or not is another matter altogether.

[He heaves a sigh.]

I just don't know how anyone could be insane enough to think that plan will work.

[sheriffing]

Not like they're gonna just set to work on fixing what they have.

Insane enough to think they'll pull it off, or insane enough to think what they get out of it will be better than this?

I think that's about the same kind of insane. At least when it comes to these guys, anyway.

Somehow, I think believing all of this is going to be better in the end is more of a leap than just team destruction.

A little bit, maybe, but they do somewhat go hand-in-hand. After all, you're not going to be running around with that lot if you don't believe in the end goal.

I'm always game for a little bit of destruction, but this is far too extreme for my tastes.

Shouldn't this be too extreme for anyone's tastes?

Some people just have to ruin it for the lot of us.

Some people seem pretty set on destruction for the hell of it.

Is it too much to hope that there's a way to change their thinking?

People's ways of doing what they will is their own. That is to say that it may depend on the circumstance.

I get that, but what about when they're wrong?

[Nyuu's been doing more listening than speaking for the most part, but she eventually throws in her own two cents.]

Why do people resort to violence?

[sheriffing]

[Emma likes punching people as much (or more) than the next person, but even she can admit - ]

Because violence is easy.

[ easier to start over than to work with what they have, right?]

It is?

[Nyuu could never hurt a fly back home. Even as the one year mark approaches for her time with ALASTAIR, she hasn't thrown a single punch. All the violence from her person has been Lucy's doing.]

[sheriffing]

It is. Destruction's the go-to because it takes more effort to fix something than to break it.

[ she'd know, looking for the easy way out isn't anything new to her.]

Is that why people were suggesting we just put the Taraxa-controlled Qorral out of their misery back in Perdition's Rest? Because some people believed they were beyond help?

[sheriffing]

They believed they were beyond help and that it was safer to protect everyone else.

[ the same logic that she remembers getting glimpses of in Woodhurst.]

Back home, a friend of mine once told me that you can't just give up on someone because it seems easier. He believed that there was always a way to help without deadly force.

A-And I overheard it's possible that there might be something wrong with Zymandis' machine? So if someone could fix it, maybe it will find another way to save the multiverse that doesn't involve destruction?

[Nyuu can't help it if she sounds so naive, but even if she was aware of this, she probably wouldn't care. To her, violence was never the answer.]

Yeah, someone else suggested that. They need to be able to justify a change in the plan.
