Depending on where you're from! But some people have very strong feelings on adding inorganic parts to organic ones, but as long as it's voluntary I don't see an issue. It's a cheap way to get stronger, but some people don't have other alternatives.

Something out of stories. A lot of things we encounter aren't that unusual for some of us because we've seen or read about them in fiction. This is one of those things.
