Well, hello!

[ it's Loki, decked out in his civvies, green hoodie and fingerless gloves, working his magitek like he's trying to take a selfie. behind him is the backdrop of the middle levels, dimly lit in the dreary evening. there's a flash of a half smile to Team Ophelia, and when he speaks again it's in a wistful, casual tone. ]

It seems that we've landed ourselves a doozy, hm? The poor souls in Rost are are ready for a little revolution, but haven't a solid plan for the rest. [ he makes vague, spread-finger gesture, and his expression says that he's excited about the prospect of an uprooting. ] But like every ready and willing revolution, there should—hm, well ... probably be some longer term changes following it, right?

It's not exactly in the mission specs, which is wringing out the corruption and all ... nor is solidity my specialty, buu-uu-ut!

[ the camera angle changes, as Ahad reaches into the frame and adjusts Loki's arm. they've managed to squish together so that they're both easily viewable, from Loki's magitek. ]

But it would be irresponsible, to leave without ensuring that they have a plan for for governance post-mission. While the ultimate solution should be left up to the people of Drakstaden, [ he says, as if this is a foregone conclusion that requires no debate, ] perhaps we could offer suggestions? What has been successful, in your own worlds?

[ Loki's head is half obscured by the video while he changes the angle to put a pair of wiggly rabbit ears behind Ahad's head. ] That means the suggestion box is open! Let's get a team effort, hm?

[It's not just that. Keith has been trying to figure out how much of Rey's weirdness (by his own perception) is because of stuff she heard from him. So, the very face value part of this conversation is ... that he wants to know.]

Some of us have more experience with rulership and different forms of government than others.

[ i mean, he's always had bravado around kylo ren. he's not afraid of poking the bear. even when he really should be. but his big mood right now is going too hard when it's really, really not necessary. at all.

where is the mental filter? where is it????? it is not present on this day. i'd say he paused before saying this but he really didn't at all. like most of the things he does, there was zero thought involved. just the impulse to yeet. ]

I served as the Master of the Knights of Ren — which, of course, puts me at the head of all forces. Above the authority of a simple general. But I mean no disrespect commander — I am certain you’ve had plenty of leadership experience yourself.

[He tilts his head, as if readying a loaded gun.]

Was it your general who chose to sacrifice your entire bombing fleet to one dreadnought? [He knows his mother better than that.] ...or was it your’s?

[ you'd think that after learning his limits with rey, he'd be aware that kylo ren has limits too and he should probably not push them. but guess what? poe dameron is not a smart man. he let himself get too complacent in his own fuckery, and that's how kylo ren murdered him in front of jesus and everyone with his words in a much more painful and vicious way than if he cornered him in a back alley and force-choked him. (that might have actually been preferable.)

but it's okay. it doesn't feel okay, that public call-out makes him feel like his insides are caving in, but he has something to fall back on. perspective. the ends justify the means. ]

I made the best choice I knew how to make at the time.
