Well, hello!

[ it's Loki, decked out in his civvies, green hoodie and fingerless gloves, working his magitek like he's trying to take a selfie. behind him is the backdrop of the middle levels, dimly lit in the dreary evening. there's a flash of a half smile to Team Ophelia, and when he speaks again it's in a wistful, casual tone. ]

It seems that we've landed ourselves a doozy, hm? The poor souls in Rost are are ready for a little revolution, but haven't a solid plan for the rest. [ he makes vague, spread-finger gesture, and his expression says that he's excited about the prospect of an uprooting. ] But like every ready and willing revolution, there should—hm, well ... probably be some longer term changes following it, right?

It's not exactly in the mission specs, which is wringing out the corruption and all ... nor is solidity my specialty, buu-uu-ut!

[ the camera angle changes, as Ahad reaches into the frame and adjusts Loki's arm. they've managed to squish together so that they're both easily viewable, from Loki's magitek. ]

But it would be irresponsible, to leave without ensuring that they have a plan for for governance post-mission. While the ultimate solution should be left up to the people of Drakstaden, [ he says, as if this is a foregone conclusion that requires no debate, ] perhaps we could offer suggestions? What has been successful, in your own worlds?

[ Loki's head is half obscured by the video while he changes the angle to put a pair of wiggly rabbit ears behind Ahad's head. ] That means the suggestion box is open! Let's get a team effort, hm?

Well, that's the problem, isn't it? I didn't get the feeling that Rost was going to take responsibility beyond purge of resources.

That leads no where quickly, as the first to step up will be the first to seize—then the whole thing happens again. If the screws are loose in the system, they need to be tightened.

Then we should try to make sure Rost realizes that they need to have someone or something in place for when their revolution begins. What that looks like should be up to the people of this world. I'm just not sure if they've really had a chance to think about what a government that isn't run like this even looks like.

Which...I understand is why you've made this post...but I'm not sure what it means when even the people on here can't come to an agreement about the best form of government either. We all have had different experiences with different modes of rule. Even if we suggest all of these options to Rost it doesn't mean that they will work here since the people of this world have their own unique cultures, beliefs, and traditions.

Oh—don't misunderstand. I don't expect us to come to an agreement. Far from it, actually.

[ there's a little shrug on his end, and he offers her a little lopsided smile. ]

But we can't run in to influence a government by purging it of corruption and not conduct ourselves on the greater implication. What we do from here on will create consequence, and we do need to be aware of that.

[Korra looks confused. Although, to be fair, this is only her second mission with the guild and the first one that isn't as straight forward as 'protect these sentient fox-creatures'.]

Are there people in the guild who weren't aware that the actions we take would have consequences?

Not in the way that I mean, no.

It's easier to play it strictly to the guidelines of the mission.

But...those guidelines are so vague.

[She pulls them up again on her magitech to be sure she's remembering them right.
It's clear by her facial expression that this idea bothers her.]

If we play strictly by this, we're only going to cause more chaos for the people here and then, what, just leave?

[ they are very vague, and broad, and somewhat meaningless if they take them at face value. ]

Well, that's what our mission success would be based off of—but it does seem a little empty, doesn't it? It's so much easier to seize power during chaos, and they could trade one dictator for another.

I've seen that happen. That's why I want to make sure it doesn't happen here.

So, that's a place to start then, isn't it? No dictators allowed. We'll have to ensure that whatever system put into place by the people of this world has the ability for a decent run without more corruption.
