[ Rey has her hood pulled up to stave off the ever-present rain pouring down in sheets on the upper levels of Drakstaden. Over her shoulder, half visible, is the tall, slouching figure of Kylo Ren. ]

We went digging in the Vakdir headquarters and got our hands on their patrol schedule. [ There's a file attached — the video of her and Kylo going through it on the terminal inside the Vakdir HQ, so it'll show any guild members interested in it the same schedule they'd seen. ]

Nothing on the Prime Minister's detail, unfortunately. [ Her nose crinkles as she says this. She's clearly not satisfied without that piece, but at least this facilitates their work here. ] But this should make moving around without getting spotted a little easier.

[ Or harder, if you're the kind of person to see a cluster of guards and run towards whatever they're watching instead of away. ]

[ ooc; per exploration, what this means — Kylo Ren and Rey successfully find the assignments and patrol schedules for the next few weeks. You can safely assume that they (and whomever they share this information with!) can avoid encountering Vakdir patrols if they reference the schedule. ]

I'm stealing food and giving it to the people who need it more.

[ Not unlike her, then. She smiles, a brief flicker of a thing. Of course Keith would. They've been so focused on where they're divided lately that it's easy to forget just how much they're the same. It heartens her to hear she's not the only one stuck on that. ]

I don't think that's temporary at all. The food might be, but the hope it gives them isn't. [ Hope that someone in this damnable city actually cares about them, hope that it doesn't always have to be like this. That's the most valuable thing you can give someone in that position. She'd know. ]

That's the idea. Back home—Voltron's supposed to help anyone out in need.

But nothing we do will matter if the people who need that help are still suffering.

[ Look at him, putting words to what she couldn't get through Kylo Ren's skull. Rey looks more at ease with this conversation than she has in most others with Keith lately. It's a weight off. In fact, she's glancing around like she's implicitly trying to nyah nyah at him about it SEE PEOPLE AGREE.

But maybe she shouldn't ... start the Keith vs Kylo Thunderdome again. So she quits after a few quick glances. ]

Do you think we should do more than food?

[ It's pretty dank down there. She's thinking jackets and blankets. ]

I want to deliver the food with blankets and jackets. That's the plan right now.

[The problem is this: it isn't only Keith's plan. Loki's a major part of it. He weighs whether it's a good idea to say that.

Well, Rey will have to get over it if she wants to help. It sounds like she does.]

Loki's looking into it, too. And in getting them some ... finer things to enjoy.

[Or however Loki looks at it. Because he's still Loki.]

That makes sense.

[ She doesn't seem to waver or hesitate on that point. Her frustration with Loki was born from his myopic judgments against her, not about him as a person, or his ability to be effective and generous. ]

I stumbled into a food run with his brother Odinson a while back.

[ Did Keith know Odinson? Well, she'll contextualize if she needs to. The point here is conveyed regardless — that it seems like Loki would probably be tightly connected to that sentiment by degrees of separation if nothing else. ]

I can help you get items to distribute. Between the schedule and the Force ... [ She'll be pretty hard to catch if she uses mindtricks, basically. Lower risk than maybe some other people would face. ]

What did you plan on doing with this schedule? You had to have had a plan in mind.

[Otherwise, it's not just a matter of releasing the information to the people at large.]

I want to know so that what you look into is ... basically something you get at the same time. They won't be able to identify me while I'm at work. I have a special suit for this.

I already told you: it's a tool, not a plan. We can get around more easily to plant Kisuke-san's bugs and run errands for Rost. [ She shakes her head, looking a little disheartened to have to admit — ] I don't have a plan.

I thought if we could find the information on where the Vakdir are and when, we could get to the Prime Minister. [ Assassination. Facilitating assassination was the angle she was working. ] But none of these Vakdir are the ones assigned to him.

[secondnature]

[Yeah, Keith can guess what the Prime Minister stuff was pointing at, and is a little worried. That's not a solution. Not by a long shot.

But he won't assume that.]

You can ask the Vakdir with the Force, can't you? You know he has a special detail. There might be something in mind for all of the politicians. All of parliament.

[forcevisions]

That's how I got this schedule. [ She didn't want to say this where Poe and Simon could be unhappy about it, but— ] Kylo and I used the Force to compel the cooperation of the Vakdir at the desk. That information must be protected at a higher level.

[secondnature]

[Keith is ready to take issue with anyone ... taking issue with that. They need to use all the tools at their disposal.]

You might have to try someone who doesn't work a desk. Someone in charge.

Once you do, you'll let us all know, right?

[Asked like he expects Kylo Ren to do the exact opposite, so he's making it difficult for him to do that.]

[Assuming success, of course. But he is perhaps too confident that this won't be a problem.]

Good. That's all I needed to know.

[The most strained conversation of the century.

"Conversation."]

Good. [ Her gaze shifts around like she's trying to figure out if everything really is good. It seems to be. That's a success, right??? Anyway, back on the other thing— ] Once we're done at the Vakdir headquarters, is there anything you want us to pick up before we head back down to the mid-levels for your supply train?

[secondnature]

Do you think they have rain boots? I bet people down there need good shoes, too.

[forcevisions]

We'll find some.

[ We. She does a full-head turn to look at Kylo expectantly. ]

[secondnature]

He doesn't have to be involved. I'm not asking him to be.

(?) Kylo Ren will remember that

[Kylo says nothing and does not react, but he does blink an acknowledgement before cutting himself out of the conversation again.]

[ What does ? ?? that mean ? ?? ? Is he acknowledging Keith, or her, or ...?

Not starting That Fight again in public. She'll ugly cry and it'll be her face with the egg on it. She just says, firmly: ] You'll get rain boots. [ She'll make sure of it, regardless. ] Children's sizes?

[secondnature]

Whatever you can get. Kids aren't the only ones who need them. Everyone's going to need to have dry feet, especially if it'll help them take care of their kids. Or someone else's kids.

Got it.

[ Whatever they can, check. ]

[secondnature]

Just—try to take them from someplace they wouldn't be missed. We don't need them to crack down on theft and then get people down there in trouble for having them.

I was thinking I'd just have someone with money in one of the stores buy them for us.

[ Honest, at least. But she's mostly thinking of the store employees. Unkar Plutt had some severe methods that she doubts are true everywhere in the galaxy for dealing with people who stole, but she imagines it's not far off here. ]

[secondnature]

That's ... one way to do it ... though you'll probably want it to be multiple people. They'll know they did something strange later, right?

[The ??? Force ???]

Not if I make them forget.

[ She wants to wriggle out of saying those words because it reminds her of how Kylo tried to get her to do that to Keith. But here it is. On the table. Honesty. Wow. ]

I'll make sure it's discreet.

[If only he knew.]

Okay.

Get someone who's being rude to the robots running the shops. I don't know how many of the bots around are sentient, but they don't deserve that.
