"Bring peace to Chantes, and restore the sun."

I've seen and heard a lot of talk over how we're meant to accomplish this task.

To those of you who are new and those who have been here from the start, I'm curious- ideally, how would you like to see such a goal accomplished?

The humans and the goblins need to accept each other. And those caught in between. Without that, people are just going to make the same mistakes all over again.

How do you propose they do that?

I don't know.

[For one thing, if he knew how to make peace between the races, he wouldn't live in a sewer.]

There are always some people who willing to be reasonable. But it seems like they're not the ones who are being heard.

Those in power very rarely listen to those without it.

It is difficult to effect change from the bottom, up.

The king might be the biggest obstacle against peace, even if he doesn't have much to do with the other half of this dilemma.

What makes you say that?

[kamiizumi]

Power, like you said. He's got the curfew in place, he's got the power to mobilize against the goblins. With as tense as things already are here, he's in the position to do a lot of damage if he won't see reason. And from what I've been told so far, the government seemed pretty content to blame things on the goblins even before this Order of the Chimera revealed themselves to us.

Do you believe he should be removed from the equation if he doesn't see reason?

I tried to do what I thought was better in my own world's past once. But I nearly made an even worse mess out of everything.

I don't want to say we should change too much without a better idea of the consequences, but just by being here there's no avoiding that we're already changing a lot.

Conflicts such as these usually get worse before they get better.

I have no clear answer myself, at the moment, but I know that saving one means being unable to save another.

Peace may be a bloodier affair than most are prepared for.

I think it's possible for two races to live in peace, but only if they believe it's possible, and there are at least enough people here who don't to throw a wrench in all of that. Nobody wants to be the first to drop their weapon.

And the Order of the Chimera?

What place does a group of half-breeds have in this world?

[kamiizumi]

That's a hard question to answer in any world.

[anti_altruisms]

All the more reason to consider it now before we're face with a choice where we may have to choose the welfare of one group over the other.

[kamiizumi]

Some people are meant for life in the shadows, but I can't see it of this group. If there isn't a place for them, they're going to carve one out no matter what it takes.

It would appear they have attempted that already.

They've caused a great deal of pandemonium.

And if that's left unaddressed, it's going to happen again.

We'll have to be vigilant, then, won't we?

[kamiizumi]

We shouldn't require this situation to make us do that much.

[They should be doing it anyway. CONSTANT. VIGILANCE. X( ]

Not everyone is tactically-minded.
