I've seen and heard a lot of talk over how we're meant to accomplish this task.

To those of you who are new and those who have been here from the start, I'm curious- ideally, how would you like to see such a goal accomplished?

And what things does it make possible? I don't want the fairytale explanation of "everything". I've heard that too many times to count in my line of work.

If it was that easy to generate magic, I'm sure those like me would be far better off than they are.

A healthy amount of skepticism is not the same as denial.

Well, I came to my own conclusions logically. I just don't deny things because I can, you know.

Answer this for me, then.

What reason would I have to say that my very existence depends on magic if that wasn't the case?

And what is the logical basis for this conclusion?

Because, logically, a person who claims magic exists is either a child who doesn't know better, or an adult who has bypassed logic and believes in inexplicable vague forces that make impossible things possible.

I don't think you're a child, judging by your writing, so the only thing left is the latter option. And what adds onto that is saying your existence depends on magic. If that's true, how so? What's the source of this magic of yours? Is magic a limited resource? Are you saying that magic can be used to create life where there is none? If you really want to prove it, you have to give me some evidence to aid your point, you know.

I would question that as being logical, actually, considering how many of us come from different worlds. The laws and precepts that govern one world may not be the same in another, and I have no issue accepting, for example, that magic as I know it, does not exist in other places.

In terms of the nature of magic in the world from which I came, it exists in everything. You might consider it the "life force" that exists in all living things in varying degrees. Humans who are born with more of it than average can learn to use it and become mages, and even then, it follows certain rules.

In my personal case, I am a spirit. Magic sustains me because I am fundamentally a non-corporeal being. I must acquire it from a mage by forming a contract or otherwise seek out another source.

As far as evidence or proof is concerned, some things are better seen than explained. If you're so curious, I could give you a demonstration.

That may be true, but given the nature of the universe and its laws that govern existence, it's hard for me to believe life somehow existed in places where the laws of physics or the like have been broken.

A spirit? So, what, like a magical ghost? And the whole "life force" thing sounds awfully too much like too many fantasy stories I've read. I have to say, I'm still not all that convinced.

However, perhaps a good show would be best. I'd love to see a demonstration, if you could provide it.

As I've said, magic itself follows certain rules. Things you might classify as the "miraculous" are considered out of the reach of mages in more modern eras.

A "magical ghost" is a quaint term for what I am, but I suppose you might consider me that. It shouldn't surprise you, actually, considering magic is simply another form of energy and power. It manifests itself and serves different purposes when channeled in different ways, but then, so does electricity.

Name a time and place, and I'll indulge your curiosity.
