[With one hand stretched out and the other holding onto something mounted over his shoulder, Ban popped in on his own post. He looked somewhat dizzy, throwing himself to the side very suddenly. Landing on his feet, Ban looked as if he had just rolled off of the side of a horse--one belonging to an unconscious Masamune Date. Ban shifted the load on his shoulder before tossing him over the back of the horse. At that point, one would be able to see his face in the midst of being knocked out, slumped over the horse.
He looked as if he had been tossed in the dirt--which was pretty much what happened.]
Hey. [Ban gave Masamune's cheek a little smack. He gave him another one. He even settled for pinching his nose shut for a little. Nothing happened.]
Need some heeeelp~. I gave him a pat on the back and he got knocked out.
[Then, Ban lifted a bottle of liquor to his lips--one that apparently came out of nowhere--drinking it back for a few moments before returning to what he was saying.]
Someone wanna take a look at him? There's gotta be somebody who likes this guy~. So, hurry up before I start tryin' to treat him.

M-Mr. Masamune is a good friend, [ she tries to explain, but all she ends up doing is tapering off in what might be recognized as guilty silence. she bites down on her lip, looking near tears for a second —
she should tell him, shouldn't he? surely he deserves to know. he has to know. that she... and masamune, his friend... that they...
but why? a small voice sounds in the back of her mind. why does he have to know? what does he care where her lips have been?
silly, her mind reminds her. you're being silly. —
she lets it all out in a rush of air, eyes hastily blinking back her tears. ]
I'll, um. I'll be out of Concoction soon. [ absently, she reaches over to wipe as some that has spilled out of the corner of masamune's mouth. she used too much, what a waste— ]
Next time, it would be better if you took him to Sieglinde Sullivan. She'll take good care of him.
[ and you too, she adds quietly. ]

[ Gintoki hums lowly, cupping his chin and stroking it slightly, not looking at Olivia.
Who the hell was Sieglinde Sullivan? ]
Please take care of yourself.
[ which is the Japanese equivalent to gesundheit. Not like Olivia will get that, but— what a mouth full of a name.
He finally looks up at Olivia, half lidded gaze fixated on her. ]
No, I'd rather anybody go to you.
[ He says this stubbornly, seeming pretty set with that's just how it's gonna be. ]

N-No, I'm not really a healer, [ she insists, so fervently that the words kind of tumble clumsily out of her mouth. she holds up the vial, the contents of it sloshing from the movement. ] This is all I have, once it's gone, I-I won't be able to do anything.
[ pls?? don't be so reckless! ]

[ Gintoki gets himself comfortable— he knows Masamune should be waking up any moment now, so he isn't going to leave his side. He pulls his bokuto from his belts and slides it between his own legs, allowing the hilt of it to rest against his chest. He leans back on his arms, practically hip to hip with Masamune. ]
Sure, other people can probably heal— other people can probably nurse and doctor and all that crap. All that stuff heals physically— that's easy. [ No, Gintoki. It wasn't easy. People go to school for a long time to work in the medical field, but—]
What you've got— people don't have. Mercy, compassion, beauty and grace. You're genuine to them. I know; cause you were genuine to me.
Stuff like that heals the heart.
That's the toughest thing to heal, you know. 'Cause that's where people keep all of the things that hurt the most.
[ He presses his two fingers to his chest, right over his heart. ]
Right there.

embarrassing, maybe. but regretful? no.
the point is, it's not something she hasn't already heard before, to some extent, and that's why she looks humbled now, shoulders hunching slightly, eyes flickering away in shame like a student who had had to have the directions repeated for them once more. absently, she reaches up to fiddle with one of her braids, a nervous gesture that at least keeps one of her hands busy while the other grips at her vial.
she almost asks, what is hurting you? but she catches herself in time. good. she's learning. ]
You always seem to know the right thing to say, Mr. Fruit, [ she says around a soft sigh, almost wistful. almost envious. ] Is that your super power?

Gintoki has to physically prevent himself from snorting. He's been doing a good job biting his tongue a lot around Olivia— he's a very foot in mouth kind of guy. Though, encouragement and really dissecting people as to who they are and what they may need to hear.. he has years of experience. He has had years of helping people, even through that tough and asshole exterior he so proudly put on display; he cared about others.
His pinky finger goes up into his left nostril. ]
My superpower is flinging a booger over 20 meters. [ this is proof he doesn't know what the right thing is to say all the time. ]
[ For the simple things, he doesn't always say the right thing. He never had much social interaction through his childhood to be too much of a pro of it. A lot of the roots of his profound words lay the teachings of his deceased teacher.
a'right then. ]

Luckily he has people like Gintoki and Olivia looking out for him. He does seem to breathe easier and look more as if he's resting rather than knocked out cold where waking him would take days.
(It doesn't help he hasn't slept well in weeks, ever since prison even if he did acquire forced resting time to recover from that.)
His horse seems restless, perhaps mostly because there is nothing but snow and dirt beneath its hooves and it is hungry (always hungry). It watches this strange display before deciding while the two moving ones interact, it will deal with its master. If Olivia wasn't right there with him, the horse probably would deal with Masamune taking a nap like this more aggressively. Instead it walks over and stops opposite side of Olivia and Gintoki, letting them do their thing, snorting as it looks down at the samurai with intense eyes...
... Before using its long tail like a fly swatter in a downward slap to Masamune's face, the momentum similar to the snapping of a whip. That is enough to jolt him except it's also enough that the first thing his body does is gasp sharply only to be greeted with the sponge Olivia had settled in his mouth to help with getting her concoction into his system. Which means—
...He chokes on it.
Yo you two hope you weren't planning on having a moment over that specialty of Gintoki's because one Date Masamune is awake and gagging just the right amount to ruin it all entirely. Excuse him as he turns away from Olivia and Gintoki to cough violently and get the foreign item out of his mouth before he died for real.
His horse is just staring down at him with a trademark horse!lineface (which may also be somewhat an 'lol' face for them, too...) it's probably trying to decide if it should have let gintoki continue his trainwreck solo or if its master circumstance is more worth it. ]

Oi, ooooi.
[ His voice is soft— quiet. He sounds very gentle right now. Gintoki is ... patting his back comfortingly? Physical contact? How nice. ]
Take it easy. You told me you don't have a gag reflex.
[ ???? there's a dirty joke in here somewhere. He's just going to sneak smearing whatever he picked out of his nose onto Masamune while doing so.... ah. Of course there's a reason for him patting Masamune, and it's to mask doing that. ]
—Did you enjoy your time with Ban-san, hah?
[ Now his voice just sounds like a condescending mother. ]
no subject
because clearly he's just being humble, and choosing to deflect attention from him by saying something silly like that! gosh, he's so cool.
masamune, too, but admittedly a little less so at the moment. ]
M-Mr. Masamune..!
[ in contrast, the concern and worry that olivia displays is actually quite earnest, inching closer on her knees so she can rest a comforting and steadying hand along the man's shoulder. leaning down, she tries to catch sight of his face, to see if it's turned any unnatural color or anything like that. ]
Are you okay — do you need anything...?

Luckily Masamune manages to spit out the sponge and his choking goes to coughing to finally just ragged breathing from the violent force used reflexively by his body to counteract the choking and get the offending object out of there. He hears the two of them, though, (and while he won't admit it their actions are pretty soothing—even if gintoki's is only to cover up his snot tissue-making of the Date lord's coat—) and he glances to Olivia when she appears in his line of sight. At first he tries to answer but no words come out and instead he brings a hand to cover his mouth as if embarrassed by the failure to even get an "I'm fine" out. Shying away slightly, his face flushes a bit more to suggest further his feelings on the matter although he will shake his hand for her to indicate that he's okay she doesn't need to worry.
This is so uncool...
Gintoki's mom-voice gets Masamune to pay direct attention to him, now, and by this time he's settled enough to lower his hand and manage a reply for them both to be able to hear. ]
What are you talking about? [ guess who doesn't even know what the hell happened!! ]
no subject
Beats me. You're the one who is supposed to fill us in, or are you that much of a lightweight you can't remember anything either?
[ Up you go, Masamune. Gintoki knows how nice that concoction is— he is probably willing to stand— or attempt to stand now. Gintoki asserts himself, slipping his arm under Masamune's neck and over his shoulders before pulling him to his feet (as long as he will allow it..?) ]
I saved your Horsey Davidson. [ it will never end ] You owe me one.
[ if you want to call it "saved????" He isn't going to let this opportunity go without trying to get something out of it. Then, he looks pointedly at Olivia. ]
And her too.
[ for, you know, being a pretty thing and giving you some of her healing stuff. ... But mainly being a pretty thing in their presence. He enjoys looking at Olivia and he has a feeling you do too because we're both gross men. ]
no subject
(take another shot!)and she still can't seem to look either men quite in the eye...but for the most part she is relieved. masamune is okay (or he seems to be getting there), his horse is okay, and both men remain on friendly terms.
with masamuune in gintoki's steady arms, she can go ahead and turn her attention towards the nearby steed, approaching carefully with gentle, shushing motions, palms out. ]
Where would you like us to take you now, Mr. Masamune...?
no subject
He lets Gintoki pick him up if only because he's still not quite able to make sense of what he missed but he automatically clings to Gintoki's arm too. This is absolutely not the polite way to help someone to their feet, bro. ] Yo, I wasn't drinking—
[ the warlord stops short, glancing over to Olivia now at her modesty and her tending to the horse. The horse seems a lot more friendly to her than it was to Gintoki, not that Masamune would know but— ]
Thanks, Olivia ♥! You don't have to take me anywhere.
[ glancing back up at gintoki now though. ] Saved him from what?
no subject
Yeah, you're wrong— I outta take you out back and break your brain. Not like you really have one to begin with, but it's the thought that counts.
[ He shifts his arm off of Masamune once he realizes he can stand properly, but keeps close.. just in case. ]
I saved your horse from riding off into the sunset. Apparently it's disowning you. That's a shame. Guess that's what happens when you hang out with that shitkicking clown.
[ you know.. Ban. ]

madman on its back). she remains quiet for the most part, merely watching the two men exchange their words while a look of mild concern remains etched into her features.after a while, she can't help but say, in a tiny voice that could easily be swallowed up by the winds around them, ]
Um... Are you sure you're okay, Mr. Masamune...?
