[Alright, so maybe she's a little late with it being the 1st and all, but Ranmaru is on the video feed in a seasonally appropriate version of her usual outfit; instead of her hat, it's a santa hat, and instead of her jacket, it's a santa jacket - only it's worn the same way she wears her usual one, unbuttoned.
And...that's a fairly large sack she's holding over her shoulder, appropriately red to match her outfit. At least she's more relaxed with this one since it wasn't the result of some dumb curse.]
Yooooo! Little late for this I guess, but you all got one last gift to get for Christmas, courtesy of Old Saint Nick himself. Santa-san's real sorry they couldn't do it themselves but...y'know, long trip back home and all. So I'll be playing Santa's helper this year.
[She waves a hand, dismissively; don't think too hard about this.]
Anyway...apparently some real thoughtful person on our team asked Santa-san for something to lift the old collective spirit, soo...
[She puts the sack down, and from within it pulls out...this]
Isn't it cute? This is mine, so don't ask for it. But they're really warm and cozy too; great for the cold if that kinda thing gets to you. Cold never bothered me, anyway.
Anyway, if you wanna grab yours, just come on down to the city square. ...although if that's a problem for anyone, lemme know. I'll have it sent your way somehow.

I have a delivery for Santa-san's helper. For all her hard work. Will she accept it?
no subject
[That was easy.]

It's the same way she can't refuse a monkey onesie Ran has provided for all. Hearing her say that is like a weird case of deja vu. WHATEVER EITHER WAY, she pulls up her SAO menu with a little chime sound and makes a steaming mug appear in her hands before offering it. ]
Here.
[ It's hot chocolate! She would have brewed tea but hot chocolate is more festive. ]

Alright, it's not like she's unused to all this bullshit by this point, but every time something new happens she's allowed to be a little taken aback. Even though she's around strange things a lot back home (specifically magic and gods) she's been kept in the dark about it most of the time by people more knowledgeable about what's going on there.
Course, she also thinks this is magic considering everything else around here is.]
I didn't know you were some sorta wizard too, Asuna!...san! [Considering she's been more polite than most people she hangs around with here, Ran remembers her manners...
...she still takes the cup though.]
no subject
At first, she blinks. ]
Just Asuna is fine.
[ How will they be good friends otherwise?! Asuna pulls out her own cup once Ran takes hers, closing her menu with another little sound before lifting to take a sip, trying not to get a hot cocoa mustache with all her power. ] Hmm, I'm not a wizard. That's a class in MMORPGs, isn't it?

[Asuna, Ran doesn't even own a cellphone. She's probably never touched a computer her entire life. This is the wrong person to ask that.
she only gets to make references because fourth wall breaking privileges]...I dunno about that, I just. Everyone here seems to be like a wizard? Everyone's got powers and stuff; I'm not used to it.
no subject
So she's as confused as Ran, lowering her cup slowly. ]
You have powers too, don't you? A normal person can't make cracks in the ground like you did.
no subject
[Said like it's obvious...really, somehow, she didn't. The only explanation that exists is she's somehow so determined to get stronger, she broke human limitations...even people back in her own world don't understand how she's so strong.
So Ranmaru shakes her head, taking a sip from her mug.]
Don't say weird things Asuna, I'm a perfectly normal human. There's nothing special about me in that sense.
I do work out a lot though...
no subject
Is she defensive about it? ]
I don't think working out would allow you to create small earthquakes if you didn't have powers.
[ ALSO. SIPS. but lets it go. LET IT GOOOOOO ]
Anyway you're not really going to stand out here until everyone gets one of those, are you?
no subject
But rather than look defensive or hesitant about mentioning it, she just suddenly looks a whole lot more confident.]
That's right! You're absolutely right- most humans would think that, wouldn't they?
"Noone's done it before, so I can't reach that level. Why should I even try? It's impossible."
WELL HERE'S WHAT I THINK! Human limits only exist so long as we think they do. If we don't continue to push ourselves enough to go beyond those limits, how will we ever succeed? I've devoted my whole life so far to breaking down those limits and getting to where I am, with nothing but hard work and effort.
If you want, I'll even share it with you...exactly how I got this strong.
Then you can be as strong as I am one day too. Whaddya say? Are you up to the challenge? Are you willing to break your own limits too?
no subject
It's impossible for a normal human!? But it is possible for a virtual avatar in this game. So much is possible and she knows first hand.
Asuna nearly drops her hot chocolate once she starts her SHOUNEN LECTURE.
The gist of it IS ACTUALLY A GOOD LESSON. Asuna summarizes. ]
You're saying... don't let anybody tell you what you can and cannot do?
1/2
It's actually just the working out I mentioned...you aren't gonna get stronger without putting in the hours.
But...it's definitely important to stay determined and stick with it, no matter what!! Even if people tell you otherwise.
no subject
And then run a whole ten kilometers!
Even if your arms start to get tired! Even if your legs start shaking!
Stick with it every day, and you'll definitely go beyond the horizon, into the uncharted territory of real human potential!
no subject
Of course you don't get stronger by sitting on your ass. And giving up definitely isn't allowed. She wouldn't let someone tell her to quit anyway. ]
You've already reached it, I think.
