Hello everyone. My name is Julius Visconti.

Allow me to take this opportunity to formally thank all of you. I was held in prison for some time along with some others. I understand how much trouble you went through just to aid us.

There isn't a lot I can do to repay the favor. For that I apologize.

[He bows his head down in apology.]

I promise that I'll work even harder from now. [It's the least he can do around here. Julius isn't going to waste his time.]

On another note, I'd like to ask you all a question.

What do you know about magic? I've been intrigued by its concept and origins for some time, yet I hardly know anything. Magic is a difficult thing for me to grasp. I'd appreciate it if we could sit down and discuss it in detail.

[ seriously! ]

My biggest gripe is it has no standard base definition between all these variations everyone claims. Until someone comes forward with one, the idea collectively is ridiculous to me.

That doesn't sound like a shortcoming on your part. And of would agree with your thoughts—Can't imagine it's possible to learn without some concrete foundations. Even moreso considering the concept transpires in many worlds.

Otherwise it's no different from a religion, yeah? [ he's heard stories on the power of blind faith in the masses but those are just rumors and concepts of the thinkers of the ages trying to grasp the human mind. He considers a moment, because, well, actually, he could elaborate more on the subject of 'magic' particularly concerning the fact he has abilities that some (or many? Who knows he doesn't display it or talk about it and he has very little plans to with most of the other team members.) would file under this 'magic' business. But it's not... at all as they have described such to him so he can't relate them enough to think to really bring it up. Not to mention he was not trained or taught in using it.

Which means surprises for later !! And for now...
]

Bladeworks, mostly. I am also a soldier. They've yet to fail me when I need them most. [ which seems like more than most can say for magic being used against them like how it was done at the prison. A whole lot of good magic does when one type can wipe out another entirely and the only hope is for assistance outside the sphere of influence. Not to mention... it's a really heavy experiment in trust exercises, in his opinion. ]

Yourself?

[ he laughs. Not because of anything particularly funny but he appreciates those that are polite and considering he finds it hard to really extend himself to many of the other ALASTAIR members, soldiers are worth fishing out of the numbers here. ] Not at all. [ his tone is good natured and friendly so he sounds sincere. ] I am first and foremost a noble and I'm learning quickly here that most nobility don't fight their own battles. [ he can definitely come off as a privileged brat when he's not the person he turns into on the battlefield. And ALASTAIR has yet to provide anything even close to anything military-like for their kind to thrive in. ]

Judging from how most here can't tell you the difference between a battle and a war, I'm guessing your world is facing some turbulent times to have your life dedicated to that type of study.
