[It's the first time that Merlin's broadcasted a video of his own, normally content to just poke his nose into others. He's sitting at a table, chin propped up on his fist, the universal pose of Deep Thought.]

I've been thinking a lot lately. [And that would be the point where Arthur would inevitably have something to say about that. It feels...odd, being able to continue without interruption. And not in an entirely good way.] About the humans and the goblins, but mostly about those who found themselves caught in-between. It's difficult, living your life in secret, wondering where you fit in, if you fit in at all.

[He's getting that wounded bear face again, a long expression with sad round eyes.]

I'm not trying to excuse anything terrible that's been done. By anyone. I was only wondering if anyone else knows what it's like to feel like an outcast.

Merlin? Like...King Arthur's personal mage slash counselor Merlin? ...just making sure.

And uh...Barry Allen, at your service.

[servant]

Uhm. Sort of. [He rubs the back of his head awkwardly.] He's still Prince Arthur to me, and I'm less his counselor and more his manservant.

[The "personal mage" part, that's pretty much true.]

It's nice to meet you, Barry.

And uh, I feel like I'm cheating a bit since I know that so...I'll tell you something about me. But it has to be private.

[servant]

I'll keep any secret you want to tell me, I promise. But...you probably shouldn't say it here.

Obviously. Everyone can read everything here. That'd be a pretty bad idea.

[servant]

I think there's a way you can communicate one on one. Actually, there's more than one way, if you count meeting in person. I meant with these devices. They make things so handy, don't you think?

[sanicspeed]

It kind of reminds me of a cellphone. But it's not really one. It still does all the same things though.

[servant]

You have something like this in your world too? And everyone can use it?

[sanicspeed]

Just about everyone has one. I mean, it costs a lot of money but it's hard to survive without one.

[servant]

And that's a good thing?

[sanicspeed]

Well...yes. That kind of technology has done a lot of good things for a lot of people.

[servant]

If it's so important it just seems like it should be free for everyone. Like water.

[sanicspeed]

As much as I would like that, companies like Verizon and AT&T wouldn't. So, yeah...
